Limitarianism. Did you hear Ingrid Robeyns on the Today programme this morning? Very brief but she was shot down by John Cordwell who pointed out that the philosophy could only be introduced formally if it is done on a worldwide scale and the chances of that happening are absolutely zero. Ingrid...

    Finding grandfather's tools

Thanks for clarifying. It certainly is a long shot.

    Finding grandfather's tools

Is it a manufacturer's stamp or an owner's name? I've got lots of my grandfather's wooden tools, planes mainly, which are stamped with his name. Brian

    Machine castors

That depends on how heavy your PT is. When you press down the first lever you are lifting 50% of the machine which might be quite onerous. I've got them on my medium sized bandsaw where they work well. Brian

    Biscuit Jointers

To be sure but worth experimenting with thinner materials.

    Biscuit Jointers

No, the proper beech biscuits are made of compressed wood and will expand more than ordinary beech. Cheap plywood biscuits don't expand, they just rely on the glue but are not as strong as beech. Beech ones can expand by absorbing atmospheric moisture but can be rescued by sanding back to size...

    Biscuit Jointers

You really need a minimum of 6mm of meat on both sides of the biscuit. When used with PVA the biscuit absorbs moisture and tends to expand thus locking itself into it's slot. I have on occasions used biscuits in thin materials but I've made my own out of hardwood to avoid the problem. Can't...

    Jet Drum Sander 16-32

Excellent, I might have a go at that next time I need to change. Re the wraps, I'm afraid I'm a bit of a miser and cut my own form a 50m roll of paper abrasive. It doesn't last as long as cloth but it only costs pence and doesn't get heavy use. Brian

    Jet Drum Sander 16-32

With a name like yours you should be an expert at it, it's only complying with your law😉 Seriously though, l agree with @Mrs C. I have had occasions when the tapered end has torn off (paper abrasive, not cloth backed) and I've retrieved the situation by reinforcing it with gaffa tape. This may...

    A new workshop.

But that's different to yours. You appear to have tenons on the ends of the logs which seem to be doweled to the corner uprights. The interlocking joints on the video are the same as my workshop. Yours certainly look very neat with no log ends sticking out. Brian

In addition to Bruno's questions:- How are the corner joints made?
