    parkside pillar drill

The ebay one says 10 sold, 1 left.🤣 If you look at the feedback nobody has fedback on a pillar drill in the last year. Bella does, however seem to have a source of Parkside kit. Returned goods maybe Brian

Lovely job. What method did you use to get the grain match on the drawer front? Brian

    hearing

@Oldman Re TV connection, I bought a £20 transmitter/receiver as recommended in post #80 of this thread. It works but the quality is terrible. However, that may be down to the unsatisfactory default settings on my aids. I am hoping to get them adjusted in 3 weeks time so I'll have another go...

    Table saw advice?

Seems to me you're using the wrong machine..Don't you get a stepped profile after a number of passes over the saw blade? Do you live with that or do you go on to clean it up to a smooth profile? A router table with round ended cutters might be a better solution but still a tedious process if a...

What saw to saw a saw?

What's the theory behind that? The only thing I can think of is that it allows for some thinning of the teeth on sharpening

What saw to saw a saw?

Your blade material looks too thin The aim of the riving knife is to keep the kerf riven so that the workpiece doesn't close up and get caught on the back teeth. The knife, therefore, needs to be the same thickness as the teeth. Brian

Do take the plunge. The standard NHS aids are very good but it can take months to get through the process. Going private can speed things up. It can also take months for you to get used to them. Aids are not perfect and varying performance in different situations can be frustrating. You will...

    EBay info

I had this happen many years ago selling a workshop log stove. After 3 months of trying to communicate I gave an ultimatum that I would readvertise if no further response. So that's what I did and got more than the original sale. You never know what's going on in other people's lives. Something...

    Kitchen cupboard door replacement.

I'll shortly be moving into a property where the kitchen was refitted 17 years ago. All the doors are suffering from the vinyl wrap bubbling up. Having read this article:- https://www.dovecottageblog.com/2021/05/painting-my-kitchen-cupboards.html I intend to strip the vinyl off and paint them. Brian

Is Gorilla woodglue strong enough for this project?

The glue should be fine on its own. If you have a few scraps left over make a test piece to satisfy yourself that all is well. Usually, when fully cured the glue will be stronger than the wood. Brian

    Sold Jet 16-32 Drum Sander

I was planning on keeping this but it's now obvious I won't have room for it in my downsized workshop, so it's got to go. The machine is mounted on castors and has a fairly new abrasive type conveyor belt. I've always made my own abrasive loadings and will include a large amount of P120 paper...

Best method to stick and remove patterns

I've always used dilute PVA or double sided tape. DS tape can leave a residue which needs a solvent to clean off, but not onerous. Any PVA residue will clean off with a light sanding. Self adhesive sheets as above would be worth a try but I've not used them myself. What clock are you attempting...

Advice Please- Table Saw Push Sticks and Disks

That's a bit harsh. The OP has stated that he is familiar with 'most of' the safety concerns and is enquiring about the secondary aspect of push stick material. In my experience plastic will just get eaten away when in contact with the blade, just like wood. Neil from Spain has worded his post...

Withdrawn Workshop Downsizing - Apollo HVLP Spray System

To be honest I only used it 3 or 4 times, I should never have bought it. However when when I did use it I had no trouble in achieving acceptable results. All I can say is that the gun/pot combo was fine but I can't give any further advice. Brian
