Two 25L unknown 'coolant' barrels, care to guess the contents?

We use a lot of RR, before that the one we used to use was also a white, milky one. It's been suggested that the green one might be grinding fluid....:dunno:

Two 25L unknown 'coolant' barrels, care to guess the contents?

Six months ago ordered 2 barrels of Exol Excelfluid RR from a supplier. They arrived, and are labelled as RR, with slightly different batch numbers. When I came to use them, they turned out to look nothing like the fluid we normally use. I got in touch with the supplier, and sent them the...

    Boxes for game pieces.

When I started working at my new place a few years ago I had access to a Prototrak cnc lathe and mill. No one else used them, so I got given the keys and told to help myself One of the things I decided to do as my learning project was a chess set. I actually made 2 - one for the display case...

Record Power Sabre 350 - A minor rant; or things you should be aware of when purchasing.

Almost forgot - the bearings that came as stock were also awful, 2 seized completely within weeks and the others felt like they'd got sand in them. Replaced the whole lot with much better quality ones for just a few quid. Next thing is the adjusting screw for the top back bearing. It's plastic...

Record Power Sabre 350 - A minor rant; or things you should be aware of when purchasing.

I've got the baby Sabre 250, and if its the clearish plastic guard on the top bearings that you're talking about, I removed mine completely - it really is awful.

Educational posters for the lathe and mill (wanted)

Bit of a long shot, but this is one of the few forums I post on, so I'll try. I work at a college and I've been asked to create a couple of posters to hang in the workshop for the new students this year. One poster needs to show a lathe, another a mill, with all the main parts labelled...

Serious help needed from any guitarist

I've been playing for two years (started at 53). I practice at least 30-60 mins every day, and I can honestly say, with that amount of time invested, I'm surprised at how awful I still am. My fingers wont stretch, my memory is shockingly bad and co-ordination between my hands is best described...

Thank you very much for some brilliant and helpful replies :) Every day is a school day - I love learning ! Spreadsheet is great Fitz, thanks - and tallies up almost exactly with another answer I was given.

Well that didn’t go as planned.

I heard about a guy called Cheops who built a pyramid - apart from a tiny bit of subsidence it went great. Longest lasting building on the estate.

Anybody good with maths? (ChatGPT failed me)

If you look at the first 3 questions I asked it, the first 2 were identical but received different answers - there's probably some insight into it's inner workings for someone more intelligent than me ! Refining the question further Starting with £30,000, and assuming a 7% annual return, and...

Anybody good with maths? (ChatGPT failed me)

Right, that makes a lot of sense. I need to state that the £500 is increased by 3% once a year on a fixed date - which gives another answer. Starting with an initial investment of £30,000 which grows by 7% a year, and adding £500 a month which grows by 3% a year every January 1st, you would...

Anybody good with maths? (ChatGPT failed me)

I'd assume it would be a fairly standard (and easy) query for someone with a financial background :)

Anybody good with maths? (ChatGPT failed me)

I'm trying to get a calculation solved - I've asked the all knowing Chatgpt this question and got 3 different answers ! So, If I start with an initial investment of £30,000 which grows at 7%, and I top that up with £500 every month (which I increase by 3% a year), how much would I have after 10...
