This might interest 'novice' circular saw blade buyers.

Firstly, if you're a professional, you already know this - I'm not, and it was a shock when I actually realized :) In my shed today I was idly thinking about another post here where people were talking about saw blades. I purchased a new FTG blade from Doug at Cutting Solutons a while ago. It...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

I've tried a couple of these type of lidded boxes, and with every one the lid has warped - whats the secret to making it stay flat? (I've never used 'new' timber, generally it's stuff that's both reclaimed (old), and has sat in my shed for at least 12 months).

My take on the DIY bar clamp.

A friend asked me "Which part of the bridge they are designed to replace?" haha

I think that was the kit I bought.

    Tpt125 triton thicknesser extractor

It's great - beats the 'henry' I had it hooked to when I first got it haha Edit Dont forget, it's a 4" hose on the vac, so you need an adapter of sorts - I cant remember if the vac came with one or I bought the 'add-on'

My take on the DIY bar clamp.

Needing a few long clamps, and being too much of a skinflint to spend a large amount of cash on something I might only use a couple of times a year, I made some with bits and pieces I had (or found). I closely followed FinnCrafted's youtube video, so if you're interested the process is laid out...

Re- a recent enquiry about equipment wax, op departed after one reply.

If you see a question you think is way too basic, ignore it - it gives someone with 'just a bit of experience' an opportunity to get the warm and fuzzy glow of helping someone :) I love this place, I've used forums for 25'ish years - this is a good one :)

    Stuff everywhere

My shed is a single garage, and as Andy said, just enough space for me and a project - but I love it. I have stuff hanging from the ceiling, hardly a wall space without a shelf or rack on it ....... it's more like a cocoon at times haha. If it's your hobby I think its just important you like...

    101 Uses for...........

Upbringing is a powerful thing :) I don't want to turn this into a Monty Python sketch, but growing up in the early 80's when my dad was made redundant (HGV driver) we were so poor I'd go with him to the local building sites and collect used nails which he'd straighten out and use in the shed...

Now happy with the Table saw.

I use Freud blades as well. Generally thin-kerf, as my tablesaw is only an 8" 1200w (I think), and they seem to cut much better than standard blades. A 16 tooth blade will rip pretty easily through most stuff

    CAD - Computer Aided Dilemma?

Those renderings were entries into a monthly competition at 3dtotal.com, where each week a mod would give an item, and the test was to come up with a model and a render that was as lifelike as possible. It helps that for a few years in my early twenties I made a living painting guitars, petrol...

Ahh Thank you, that makes perfect sense now :)

    'Precision' Clamping squares.

No wish to appear thick but your first statement lost me :) If only mine were bad then they should replace them, but if all of them are bad they shouldn't replace any? No, no, I wouldn't dream of asking them to take a modified product back - hence I made it clear to them I could fix the...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Sorry Tom, no pictures :( It was exactly as you said though - glued strips, then cross cut (like the majority of youtube videos I've watched about making chess boards!) Then a lot of time with a hand held belt sander at 50grit, followed by palm sanders at finer grits. Finally a router for the...

    'Precision' Clamping squares.

It's a very reasonable response. It was an FYI email because I didn't know about the lifetime guarantee, I assumed I'd had them too long to be replaced. Knowing about the lifetime guarantee - as I assume their rep did - then now I'd expect to be offered a replacement before I took them to work...

    CAD - Computer Aided Dilemma?

Droogs - the tattie masher was an experiment in using some of Keyshots more advanced layered textures - didn't quite nail it :D Billw - Modeled in Solidworks :)

What's the most stupid thing you've done in woodworking?

Forgot to set the Z height on the CNC mill. Who knew you could punch a 10mm drill bit straight through 13mm ali plate? I know it's not woodworking - but it's in the spirit of the thread ! :D

    CAD - Computer Aided Dilemma?

If you can afford it, or have access to it, a program called "Keyshot" is a stunning piece of software for taking data from a cad/modelling program and rendering it out. Done for various projects/competitions. A few more of mine a griff701.com
