Lamello clamex S-20 biscuit connector screws?

They work out about £1 each from Hafele which is what attracted me to them, it's just the lack of screws that is a pain. You can buy packs of 80 complete with screws for £105 which is looking like the best option.

Lamello clamex S-20 biscuit connector screws?

Hafele sell the Clamex S-20 biscuits in multiples of 10 which is quite handy but they don't come with screws. The proper screws are £100+ for 1,500 which to a Yorkshireman sounds a bit expensive. I'm using them with some small countersunk screws at the moment but it's a bit of a faff, the...

Plugging existing hinge holes in MDF

They look great (y) Not sure how you did the cut out for the lock but if just doing the odd one I would use a marking gauge to score a couple of lines for the sides and use a Stanley knife to score lines for the top and bottom. You can then freehand route more or less to the lines and use a...

    Table saw fence

If you look at most machines eg spindle moulders, planers the fence is on the right when you feed timber in, I presume it's developed this way because most people are right handed so push with their right and apply lateral pressure with the left :dunno:

    Oak doors laminate cracking

Is there a veneer over the laminations or are the laminations the actual face of the door? As said a photo is always helpful but to be honest probably not much that can be done apart from recoating with plenty of whatever has been used. This care guide from UK Oak Doors always makes me smile...

    Smart meter con ?

When my tenant moved out a few weeks ago I found the old meter had been replaced with a new one. I am told it needed changing because the old one was a Radio Teleswitch meter and the radio frequency they use to switch between peak and off peak rates is being turned off next year. My mother has...

Plugging existing hinge holes in MDF

Like @toolsntat I tend to use a 1/2" plug, I've come across too many old casings where people have hammered things into the screw hole to fill it which has caused the casing to split (obviously that shouldn't be a problem with the MDF frames discussed in this thread). I use the Trend centering...

Plugging existing hinge holes in MDF

Maybe it's just me but I never do the carrying doors in and out and up and down stairs thing when fitting them, I generally do all the planing inside the house right next to the opening where the door is going. Using a decent electric planer and extractor there is no dust or shavings plus I like...

    Mitre saw blade - replacement

I have a Saxton blade on my Kapex and it works fine so tried some Saxton blades in my track saw and they were awful :dunno: When you see the difference in the amount of carbide on the Saxton blades teeth v the original Festool blades you can see where the extra money goes.

    Combination Pliers

Do Elliot-Lucas still make pliers, got mine must be 35 years ago and still used daily. I remember buying then from the then local ironmongers F.R Stubbs in York (unfortunately long gone) and thinking they were expensive but the sales assistant assured me they were the best.

    Plane restoration

I generally keep out of sharpening debates but will stick my neck out here and suggest if you are just starting out I would get the coarse, medium and extra fine stones and the honing guide linked below. Certainly not the best but a capable set up for less than £50 which will let you get a feel...

    Raised Panel

Not really sure but think I would call it a bead edge joint, a kind of tongue and groove that should keep things in line and increase the gluing area. You can clearly see the join which isn't great, a bigger photo might help see what's going on. Is it Oak, it all looks a bit rough.

Table Saw kickback and trimmed finger (Graphic description & images)

When I was doing my City & Guilds there was a smaller workshop joined on to the one we used which did some furniture restoration courses, most of the students seemed to be well to do middle aged women. The ladies often wandered into our workshop to use the bandsaw and none of them had a clue...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Had never heard of a calligraphy drip before so was about to Google it then realised it was probably meant to say capillary drip, good old auto spell! Yes it has a groove under the cill, not sure of the overhang, just made it like for like so it matched the other windows.

I've never used a sliding mitre saw before, but I've just bought one. Looking for safety/operating advice.

I have one of those 10 Million Dollar Stick things, I generally avoid gadgets but can recommend this, it keeps your fingers out of the way when cutting small pieces. https://woodworkersworkshop.co.uk/fastcap-10-million-dollar-stick/?srsltid=AfmBOopX2Km-Sz4H1Bfm5YWNirq4TJfXgP-uz6jGtVY-J9XFoUhX0LBF
