    Sack Truck, Folding Workbench

Just seen this from Ryobi, looks quite handy for transporting toolboxes then using as a quick work surface. https://toolguyd.com/ryobi-speed-bench-workstation/ Thinking I could maybe fasten an MFT type top to one of these to create something similar. I know it wouldn't be that solid but could...

    Latest Wall Panelling job

@Jake @AJB Temple thank you for the paint recommendations, are you spraying the Tikkurila or brush and roller? Reading reviews gives the impression it's great for spraying but a bit loose for brush and roller?

    Latest Wall Panelling job

It was Moisture Resistant MDF, I couldn't tell you the brand as it was done in stages and Arnold Lavers seemed to send a different brand each time. Before it was painted it looked like patchwork as it was all different shades of green and brown.

    Simonswerk hinge quality?

Thank you for all the replies, sounds like mine aren't up to scratch. I have emailed the supplier and am awaiting a response.

    Woodhaven2 heads up

I know it needs an update but I will be sad to see the old site go, I quite like that it's a bit quirky, makes it feel authentic. People tend to not like change, I remember when this place was updated members were threatening to leave for reasons like they didn't like the shade of blue...

    Simonswerk hinge quality?

I have never used Simonswerk hinges before but have heard good things about them so thought I would give them a try on some cabinets I'm making. It didn't start well as the delivery didn't turn up yesterday as promised and when it arrived today the packaging was wrapped in parcel tape which had...

    Chamfer router bit

I would be tempted by T916B with either the 1/4" or 1/2" shank just based on the fact you can do a small chamfer with a large cutter but you can't do a large chamfer with a small cutter should the need arise.

    No More Chickens

I think the number of chicken owners is definitely in decline. Quite a few people used to take my bags of wood shavings for their chickens but there is only one person now and they are down to their last chicken and say they won't be getting anymore.

    Latest Wall Panelling job

@paulrbarnard the nearest dog in the photo is a Ridgeback, it's only young and has at least doubled in size while I have been working there, I can't believe how fast it has grown! @Ollie78 the paint is Little Greene, it looks great but not sure how good it is, the seat got scratched and when...

Beginner's Project: Wardrobe + Wall Bed - Birch Ply

That looks really good and the fact you made it on the floor with a few basic tools and not much experience is just incredible 👍

    Latest Wall Panelling job

A wall panelling job I just finished, it's to create a 'snug' area in a kitchen. There are still some picture lights etc to go up and radiator to fit but that's not my department. Sorry photos are not great, I didn't realise how hard it is to photograph dark coloured rooms! Posh pipe...

    London Pattern Screwdiver

I have an 18" London pattern screwdriver that still gets a bit of use. The slotted screws on old cast door hinges are often something like a No14 but with a really thin slot which modern screwdrivers don't fit, the tip on my old London pattern is ground to fit them.

Surely a huge gap in the market?

I was going to suggest Festool is about as close as you get with their system approach, everything the same height, easily swapping extraction and power leads between tools, saws and router both running on the tracks etc. I have a little old Rexon bench top planer and an unbranded old bench top...

    Parkside flat bits

I keep a set of these in my van, not the greatest but cheap enough and got me out of trouble many times. https://www.buyaparcel.com/irwin-17-piece-flat-spade-drill-bit-set-6mm-to-38mm-irw1840636-xms18fbit17/

    Dust port sizes

Hopefully @Myfordman won't mind me posting this link to the other place showing a simple method for making adaptors which I found useful. https://www.thewoodhaven2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5523&p=87648&hilit=adaptor+dust#p87648

Router Bit for French style Mouldings

Another method of making coving that I won't be using. Just a warning if you haven't watched ENCurtis before, he is quite wordy making even your average American Youtuber seem brief and to the point! For some reason I find his videos strangely engaging.

    Domino-ooh-ooo

I think it's mainly the 5x30 size that have a reputation for being tight, plus there isn't much of them to grip when trying to remove them. Dominos can take on moisture and swell a bit if in a damp environment but normally okay if straight out of the packet. As long as they aren't slack I...

    Loose Tongue in Groove Boards

9mm deep grooves so 18mm wide tongue, minimum 2mm gap between boards which gives the tongue at least 2mm clearance. Tongue not too tight and give it a coat of whatever you are going to finish the gate with before you assemble it.
