Is it possible to maintain a camber on the jack plane indefinitely

This might not work as I’ve never had a camber on a plane blade, I just take the sharp corners off now and again, how about a combination type stone with the camber shape ground into it ? Ian

    T bar clamp coupler?

But the question was how to extend T bars

    Garden bench design help needed

Hi Andrew, yes I agree stay away from the park benches, and those two you have found do have some nice sweeping curves to them, the second one is not for the faint hearted and would be difficult unless you are quite proficient, the first one is much simpler and could be relatively easily...

How would you go about creating something like this?

Yes if you set about to make a chest of drawers like that properly, and add up how many hours it took you you will think that £800 is cheap. But at least doing it yourself you will have something that will outlast you. Ian

    T bar clamp coupler?

@JobandKnock can’t see how you keep the head alignment with that. We are talking T bars here aren’t we?

    Energy may go even higher

I quite agree @Spectric, and the good thing about tidal is that on an island like ours somewhere around the edge the tide will always be just right, high tide time changes as it moves around the coastline so you wouldn’t need many farms to give you non-stop power, and no messing about with lack...

    T bar clamp coupler?

I have thought about this a few times but I can’t see how it can be done unless the two heads are going to be quite out of alignment with each other. Yes you could join T bars end to end but unless you cut one to length you’re only going to have about 10 inches of adjustment on the threaded...

    Which Dehumidifier?

I must say Ollie that I wish I’d known about one of these years ago, it seems a very clever solution to a problem that many people have, yes mould could have been affecting your daughter so that was a good move, I would just say that if you experience chest problems in your family it may be that...

    Adding molding to slab mdf

Even though your last statement seems contradictory I know exactly what you mean, we started off with 18 mil MR MDF just like you for my sons wardrobe doors, he wanted a geometric slashed design right across six of them, I knew I should’ve run away but Dad's being Dad's got stuck in and this is...

    Multiple question thread

    4. I can’t say whether it will be any good or not unfortunately but I really like the look of that plane, looks more Japanese than anything else to my eye.

    Emulsion paint

I get on well with Johnstons paints, and of course they can mix up any colour that little Green and Farrow and Ball etc etc do. I found Farrow and Ball particularly difficult to apply last time I used any of theirs. Ian

    Rollers for drawers

I know it’s not what you were planning to do, but you could save even more space by having the boxes underneath the shelf in that wasted bit of space on top of everything else, if you want to, make a row of cubbyholes that the boxes slid into?

    Energy may go even higher

I always found it incredible how they stopped the gas leaking around the joint of the two biscuit tins, at first I thought there must be a great big rubber bag in there but the top half didn’t just go up and down it swivelled round on a screw thread, so it twisted. I have no doubt that some...

Table saw suitable for cutting blanks?

With care and two full length push sticks you won’t come to any harm cutting the corners off on a tablesaw, I’ve done (in effect) the same thing many many many times. Start off slow and push it through straight. Probably a whole lot safer than a chainsaw on idly little bits. Ian
