    Replacement CXS drill

I have the TXS and really like it, especially the right angled chuck adaptor....Useful in tight spaces which happens quite a lot due to the type of work that I do. I did look at the CXS at the time of purchase but I already had the C15 and preferred the T shape rather than the C shape in the hand.

For Sale Clamping Guides /Straight Edge.

I still have these available and could look into a price for postage at buyers expense, if it helps..? I have a large section of heavy duty cardboard tube that would help protect the clamps if needs be.

    Cabinets below ceiling height

Back/Uplighting can be quite effective, depending on the situation. This was a kitchen I made & fitted about 3 years ago. Slightly different as it was above an Island, but the principle is the same. Pictures show it with the lights on and off.....

Reducing waste on tongue and groove 22mm chipboard flooring options?

So would I and have done so on many occasions. My workshop floor is done like this and has many heavy machines sitting on it without issue.

    Hammer A3-31 Extraction

I bought my A3 31 second hand from a member of this forum....It came with a geniune Hammer / Felder 120mm to 100mm reducer. I use a dedicated extractor for the machine and it only has a 100mm pipe connection. Dust extraction is very reasonable,...Not 100%, but I wouldn't have expected it to be...

    SDS Drill

Depending on what type of work you are doing with the tool, will depend on how often you need to apply the grease. If I'm just using mine to drill a few holes, applying grease to the drill bits & chuck is rarely done....Months can go by between applications of grease...But, using it as a...

    Cabinets below ceiling height

The problem with doing what the fitters have done in your picture, ...Leaving a small gap like that creates a dust trap that is nigh on impossible to get in to clean. Ideally, they should have fitted a scribe panel behind the Cornice & up to the ceiling to seal the gap.

    SDS Drill

During extended use, an SDS drill warms up by quite a bit and the lubricating grease will start to come out of the chuck. Have you been replacing the grease as you've been using the drill..? I have a couple of SDS drills and most of them have come with a little container of grease for exactly...

    Cathodic protection for cast iron

Largest surface area by a long way is the Hammer A3 31. Then the Charnwood router table. Then the Axminster bandsaw table. Then the Startrite pillar drill. Smallest surface area is the Record BS 250.

    Cathodic protection for cast iron

I'm not too sure how one can technically tell a better quality cast iron from another....But, from personal experience, I can say I have 5 different machines with cast iron tops/ surfaces ( all different manufacturers). The worst is my large foor standing Axminster bandsaw, by far. Followed by...

Having trouble with wood finishes…hardwax oils vs varnish

Kev,...If you're referring to the Rubio, ....it is a 2 part ( hardener is transparent) and has a pale Toffee colour when mixed. Bear in mind, it goes a very long way and only requires one conservative application. I've only ever purchased the 275ml size for various jobs when I've needed it...

    Cathodic protection for cast iron

I use a section of cotton sheet about 100mm square to apply the wax. I keep it Inside the tin when not in use and it keeps it moist.....I reckon I've had the tin for about 3 years and there is still more than 80% of it left....The wax still seems to do its job okay. I recently (over the Xmas...

    Cathodic protection for cast iron

That's exactly what I've done with all my cast iron topped machines.....Then, keep the tops covered with an old towel when not in use. Never had any problems. I use Axminster Machine Wax. The tin seems to last forever......

    Wood worktop problem

How has the worktop been fixed down? Ideally, it should have some means to allow for the movement of the wood. This is normally achieved by fixing it in position by slotted right angled brackets or if its fixed though the rails of the cabinets, there should be a large clearance hole through the...

That piece of Chippendale furniture/ cabinet was a joy to behold.....Not my cup of tea but I could certainly appreciate the work and detail that had gone into it.

Best saw blades for dewalt dw8001 radial arm saw.

I tried a pack of 3 Saxton blades (48 tooth) in my Ts55 tracksaw.....The quality of of the cut/ finish was terrible in comparison with the original Festool blades. I now only use them for rough cutting material. ....Maybe, I just bought a bad batch..?

Having trouble with wood finishes…hardwax oils vs varnish

Take a look at Rubio Monocoat......On the occasions that I've needed to coat a table or kitchen worktop, it's what I've used for years. Not cheap, but never had any comebacks 👍 It's a two pack system and you have to be careful to mix the correct percentages of each ..... I've always used the...
