Yes,...It does have the triangular key that is found on gas/electric meter boxes but mine also has the 2 square keys on it. 👍

Radiator (and boiler) drain valve keys?

Here you go Dave.....This is what you need. Although it says it's for opening cabinets for service access, it also has a square keys on it as well...... I have one and the 2 x square keys are 6mm & 8mm across the flats. https://www.screwfix.com/p/3-way-services-cabinet-key/16428

    Festool track clamp.

Exactly! With all respect to Dave,....Using his method, if there was 0.5mm difference between the front and rear adaptors, and he performed the 5 cut method over a length of 600mm material, he may well end up with an out of square panel. Making the adaptors the way I described would ensure...

    Festool track clamp.

Really...?? Surely, it would be more logical and far more accurate to have the tapered slot cut so that as its pushed forward, it locks against the rail edge? Do you follow my thinking? I'm pretty sure I saw an Australian guy on YouTube who made a pair of those adaptors and his were made as...

    Festool track clamp.

Dave,....Forgive me for questioning you, but to ensure accuracy and repeatability, isn't the edge of the track supposed to be tight up against your metal dogs...?? You picture "seems" to show the tapered plastic is tight in the slot but the rail is not against the dogs...!??

    Startrite TA165 Tidy up - Part 2

That "pin" ( item 9), should protrude when the blade is at 0 degrees. It's designed to pop out and it's supposed to act as a stop against item 17. They can get a bit stiff and the spring ( item 7,8) is supposed to push it out. Rust and sawdust doesn't help and my guess is it just wants cleaning...

    Startrite TA165 Tidy up - Part 1

With care, you can drive the spring pins down from the top of the table. A good soak in WD40 beforehand will help.....You wont need to drive them out completely, just enough so they are no longer located in the cast iron top. Just make sure you use the correct diameter flat ended punch. The...

    Kity 618 jammed

Hi Peter, I've just taken the front handle off my saw and it locates on a slotted Spring Pin that passes through the centre of the shaft, as you can see in my pictures below.....It just pulls straight off once the nut & washer are removed. The front Black handle has a corresponding slot in...

    Kity 618 jammed

I think the nut with the Allen grub screw is what holds the shaft in place.....I dont think you need to remove them to take the handles off. As I said, I'll take a look at my saw this evening and remove the handles & ill take a couple of pictures so you can see what to expect. 👍

    Kity 618 jammed

I have a Kity 618 at home in my garage workshop, but it's been many a year since I had it all apart......I'll take a look at those handles this evening when I get home and see if I can shed any light on the subject for you. Thinking about it now,....I dont remember ever having to use a puller...

Is Greenheart the wood they used to use as ballast inside the bottom of a ship...?....and make Jetty"s out of for the piles..? A friend of my Father's gave me a lump of wood many, many years ago and it's the heaviest wood I've ever come across......Its got a deep purple sort of colour, is...

    Smoking Startrite table saw

Now you've got your belts on, cleaned it up and no smoking, put it back together and give it a try. The following test is what I always do when I've got one of these saws back together.... Once it's all set up on a nice level surface with a new correct quality blade in it, you should be able to...

    Smoking Startrite table saw

If you're saying there isn't excessive noise & excessive play in the blade spindle bearings, then there really isn't the need to change them if it runs smoothly enough. If you feel you really want to change them whilst you've got the saw apart anyway, go ahead. Ideally, you do really want to...

    Smoking Startrite table saw

I wouldn't worry too much about the belts,....They may just need to be tensioned a bit more. As I suggested in an earlier post, ..remove the 2 belts and spin the blade spindle by hand. You should be able to hear and/or feel if the bearings are worn out. If it doesn't feel really smooth when you...

    Festool Domino wont switch off.

Any normal power tool, such as a Router, I would suggest it could possibly be an ingress of sawdust.....But the Domino has to be used with a dust extractor, so its unlikely to be that. As Myfordman suggested, if it's out of warranty, take it apart and test the switch is operating correctly...

That motor size (1.5hp) is bigger than normal.....The 240v motor for that saw should be 1.25hp ...900watts.....2850 rpm...A Brook Crompton "Gryphon" motor..... To get a manual, you can download a copy from here..... http://www.sharkbandsawblades.co.uk/startrite_spare_parts_and_handbooks.html...

    Smoking Startrite table saw

How far you want to strip it down is entirely up to you Boris, but a good clean up to remove all the sawdust would be the first place to start. As I said, the " Bolt" you keep referring to is actually a welded boss that is part of the U shaped motor mount. There is a pivot shaft in the centre...
