    Fitting compact laminate worktops?

I have a set of MDF templates that I use with a router for cutting socket holes in back splashes. I've always found, you only need a couple of datum measurements for each of the socket positions, then clamp the template into position & rout away.

Hoping I can make this Startrite Mercury 2 live again!

With all due respect,.....The whole of the inside of that motor looks like it could do with a good clean, and while you're at it, you can check to see if all the connections are okay. Did you find the terminal code markings on the terminal board...? Check to see if your connections are the same...

    Fitting compact laminate worktops?

......??? I think you are thinking of a different material Bingy Man....!!! Compact Laminate is solid 12.5 mm thick resin based material.....perhaps you are thinking of normal laminate covered chipboard worktops? The machining process & tooling is different......

    Fitting compact laminate worktops?

It's really tough on TC blades & router cutters Doug...! It sounds as though the job is pretty straightforward from what you've described and the sink cutout is going to be the most challenging. Twin flute straight router cutters tend to leave chatter marks on the cut edges, so if you've got a...

Here are a couple of pictures of my Startrite drill and a couple of pictures showing the internal label on the motor terminal cover, as well as my notes ( still written on the side of one of my cupboards in my workshop)😁

Hoping I can make this Startrite Mercury 2 live again!

I didnt do a restoration thread on it, but I do have a couple of pictures of the finished result. I think your drill may be a bit earlier than mine, as my drill has a black & yellow Startrite badge whereas yours is black & red. Have you ordered an original style rotary switch? (About £38 to...

£35..? That's a bargain! 👍even without it's original rotary switch and dodgy wiring! I bought the same model drill in similar condition to yours and refurbished it earlier this year.....I'm really pleased with mine! 👍

    Edge banding without specialised machinery

I would think you should be able to glue & clamp it easily enough. Approximately, how many linear meters are you planning on gluing...? If it's just a few, then I would think it was worth doing yourself....However, if you've got tens of meters to do, then it may be most cost/time effective to...

    Edge banding without specialised machinery

The company that I use for the majority of my edgings offer a sanded Ash edging in .5mm, 1mm, 2mm and 3mm thicknesses. It comes in 50mtr rolls. I think in the .5mm thickness, you can get it pre glued, but not in the thicker options.

    Edge banding without specialised machinery

There are various thicknesses available Pedro......What material are you working with...? Veneer or Melamine? If its Melamine, you are going to be limited to the thinner edgings (.3mm or .5mm thickness) that come pre glued. 1, 2, or 3mm thick edgings are available in thousands of colours and...

    Cutting Bushboard Nuance panels

    120mm x 686mm door lining

I cant say I have, to be honest.....I was just using it as an example of what is available out there. I normally buy any internal door lining I need from a local builders merchant near me.

    Flexible Tap connectors

If the tap has come with flexi tap connections, then its obviously been designed to do so. If you have poor flow rate from the tap, then you have either purchased or been supplied with a tap that is not suitable to your plumbing system. I supply and install loads of taps as part of my business...

For Sale Startrite TA 145 Table Saw 240v.

Refurbished Startrite TA145 saw. Dates from the early 70's. A good solid, heavy saw. It was originally a 3 phase saw when I got it but I fitted an original model 240 volt motor that I had, along with an original online starter with NVR and motor overload protection. New bearings fitted in the...

MFT top making - standard or isometric ?

If I remember correctly, Peter Parfitt (the inventor of the Parf system) made and posted up a video on his YouTube channel (The New Brit Workshop) showing the procedure he recommends....Perhaps taking a look at that may help you out? Edit. Here is a link to the first of two videos he...
