Anyone have a Axminster Trade Series BS100 Belt Sander?

Hi Giantbeat - suggest you call one of their stores, I'm sure someone there will be happy to go and get the measurements for you if they have one on display.

    Anyone got this planer?

Check the silver rating plate on the motor or side of machine for a model number or any other identifying numbers if it's still visible & give Ax a call & speak to technical - their technical team have been around a long time & are good people, they should be able to help.

    Sawstop News Update

Just for info if you hadn't heard, about 6 weeks ago Sawstop was bought by TTS Tooltechnic (The owners of Festool). Currently operating as a stand alone company, but it could be interesting to see if the technology is incorporated into the Festool range.

    No Planer Jointers

Hi Old-n-Kranky - could be worth calling Dave at D B Keighley Machinery in Leeds I was in there a few weeks ago and pretty sure I saw a Jet 8" jointer (code: 60A) he still had in his showroom. Not guaranteed as my memory is not 100%, but it's worth a call to check if he has one as as they are...

    Jet JTS 600

Mike you are right, plus the main fact is it is only spinning a relatively lightweight blade - 16amp is normal for the same motor size when the start up has to turn a heavy cast bandsaw wheel or cutterblock - it's that initial load that counts. cheers Nick

    Heads up on Axminster pricing

Currency exchange is currently the biggest factor. £1 STG was worth about $1.55 USD last year - now it's at the $1.4 level - that's about a 10% drop in buying power, same with purchasing in Euros and some other currencies. Good news for export, not so good for import.

    Jet DC1100A Extractor

Ok, so all correctly set up - the thing is the filter is not designed to be removed - normally a blow out once in a while, coupled with a pre-vacuum will ensure there is no build up. Mock, I'm working in S Wales tomorrow, and if you want I can call in and see if we can sort this, I can also...

    Jet DC1100A Extractor

Hi Mock, have you made sure the handles are tight enough onto the shaft via the top two nuts so they turn the 'paddles' inside the filter without it slipping? You should be able to hear a 'thrumming' noise when the handles are being turned - this is the steel paddles agitating the paper filters...

    Jet JTS 600 V Axminster AW10BSB2

Hi Matthew - 'backlash' is probably the reason your blade goes off square after lowering. there is really no way around the laws of mechanics - all machines will have this to some degree - golden rule is always drop then raise back to the height to minimise it. linky here -...
