    Recommend me some filler!

Haha - Whenever I make a balls up on skirting board mitre joints and can't be arsed to re-do it, I just stick a big plant pot in front of it and my missus is normally none the wiser. Our house does now look a bit like the botanical gardens around the room edges, but hey-ho :D

Charnwood W619 Or Axminster Craft AC216TS Table Saw

Ha, When it's in - go to their website and put 500 in your basket - then when you go to check out it will tell you how many are on back order - bingo - you will know how approximately many have been ordered ;) Top tip from a competitor who monitors other competitors stock 8)

Charnwood W619 Or Axminster Craft AC216TS Table Saw

Not all companies do it as a 'marketing trick' so far in advance Rob - Personally I'm waiting for factory confirmation dates before putting anything official about new products on our website. I don't know their exact circumstances, but I agree with the general consensus that it only causes...

Charnwood W619 Or Axminster Craft AC216TS Table Saw

This can be the reality of correctly sourcing newly designed machines though - I am in the same position where anticipated deadlines suddenly change due to unforeseen design/tooling or just production issues that sometimes seem trivial but still need to be done - they can then suddenly postpone...

I don't know what to say....

Haha, madness - I've seen far better quality 'original' pallets than that - no doubt some hipster will buy it though and turn it into a 'talking piece'. Can't find the link, but someone posted on twitter as a p*ss take how they converted an antique coffee table into a pallet - made me laugh.

    Now I need a new cordless drill/driver.

Hi Steve - agreed - the buying power/quality of 'Lidaldi' is probably under-estimated by most due to them being budget brands, but they have shaken up the market without a doubt & their massive volume orders combined with a buying team who seem to be switched on to get the required quality of...

    Now I need a new cordless drill/driver.

Not teaching to suck eggs, but worth just double checking you didn't just temp slip out of gear and ended up neither 1 & 2 speed - seen it happen before - Have you made double sure the speed lever is selected & fully in position - planetary gears don't like any middle setting. If it still has...

    Machince Assessment Service?

Hi - if you want to send me a pm with machine details and exact location I will ask a friend who is now freelance. He previously worked for a very long time for the largest tool & machine company in that area as one of their key service technicians both workshop & field based - he's a very...

Still love the welsh sign from a few years ago that made it into reality.. Welsh translation below reads : "I am not in the office at the moment. Send any work to be translated."  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7702913.stm

Harrogate whose going this weekend ...

Cheers Glynne, feel free to drop by if you get a chance - We are asking for a 10% deposit on the first machines to come in next year - ha, does that count as a 90% discount? ;)

Harrogate whose going this weekend ...

Yup - I'll be there demonstrating too - Just loaded a big hire van up with some nice shiny black Laguna machines :) I look forward to meeting any UKWW members and getting your reaction to the machines - Stop by and say 'Hi' if you can. We air-freighted these samples in to make sure they were...

Another Ironmongers shop closing after 87 years trading

That's sad news that they are closing after all this time - I used them a fair bit when I lived in Reading 25 years ago whilst doing up my first house, they always had the gidget I needed - I was also their Elu salesman at that time. Decent people.

    Electra Beckum 255V8 Saw

Hi Alex - I remember watching a motor refit & full square up on the PKF by a colleague over 20 years ago, but can't really remember the specifics - I just remember that it was a real pissy job that involved a lot of swearing in German and getting inside the machine. Try contacting Metabo Uk in...

What large capacity bandsaw is best for a small workshop?

Hi Tom, You are right, Laguna use ACM to make some machines for the USA market, but they also have several exclusively designed band saws which are made elsewhere. We are planning to bring these exclusive units into Europe (Not the ACM machines), Including their best selling/award winning 14/12...

    aftermarket table saw fence

Hi Alexfn Charnwood do a decent aftermarket saw fence for £60 - It's solid and a very good seller for them. No micro adjust, but maybe you could modify to include that? https://www.charnwood.net/products/prod ... athway-224 Or take a look at the Incra systems sold by Peter Sefton - they are...
