    Router table problem

A winged slotter on an arbour is like a biscuit jointer, you make the slot against the fence not the table, clears better as the wings throw the debris behind the work piece through the fence into the dust pick up.

    Bamboo fly rods.

The splitting and planning of the bamboo is to make V sections to be glued together to make a split cane rod, natural bamboo would not have the strength to allow casting.

    Bamboo fly rods.

@Volksfish Thanks for the reply and offer of help, very kind of you, but this is something I would like to have a go at doing myself, I note you are in Salisbury, I am a member of the Longford Estate fishing syndicate on the Avon, trouble is I am in Kent and its a long way to go and fish, but...

    Bamboo fly rods.

Done that, but can't find a suitable bottom handle. Have found a complete salmon rod handle, but that does require stripping off the existing handle, reel seat and first stripping ring.

    Bamboo fly rods.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking more of carving them to shape before sanding to make a flared butt section and curved handle, I suppose getting hold of some cork and trying different techniques is the way forward for me.

    Bamboo fly rods.

I know the thread is old, but it's the only reference I can find to the information I need, I am specifically talking about shaping cork handles, I have a need to convert some of my rods to double handed to ease my old aching bones, anyone have any advice?

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

All of these problems disappear when using HVLP the much lower pressure (below 10psi) avoids the majority of bounce back which is the major contributor to airborne contaminates, I would never go back to a compressor and gun no matter what the hybrid blurb says about conversion guns, they don't...

    Invoice dispute

The JCT80 small works form was designed for just this sort of work, used it extensively when I ran my small company, then went on to become a consultancy and the problems of non payment went away.

new Axminster spiral cutter portable thicknesser

I use a torque screwdriver to tighten the terminals on MCB/RCB/O's in consumer units, first time I used it scared me to death the amount of torque required to operate the drivers mechanism to indicate the torque had been reached, it was so much higher than No 1 wrist action I sent it back to be...

new Axminster spiral cutter portable thicknesser

Bit out of touch there, nearly all modern cars do not have spare wheels, but run flat tyres which are the normal fitting, I think its only Audi that still have a spare wheel.

    Planer(jointer) feed direction

I set the Blades level with the outfeed table, using a piece of glass, nothing fancy, pull the work through after the piece has first passed the blades keeping pressure on the outfeed table, this has always worked for me and many others I have set up for people, try it.

    LVLP spray gun and compressor?

For information, HVLP uses a max of 10psi, hence less bounce back, (mist) more paint goes onto the job, and more environmentally friendly, most professional shops now use HVLP as its becoming a licence issue, in the USA in some states you can't use anything else in a commercial shop.

The joys of electric car ownership!

So what happens to the void in the earths crust when the oil is abstracted, I assume they fill it with water which will go someway to preventing the sea from rising, so to prevent this we must keep using oil. 😱 😇
