    Handrail brackets

Following on a bit from this, the handrails will be joined together with Zipbolts at various angles, as this is external I am thinking of adhering the two together with a polyester glue rather than a PVA what would other use?

    Felder Service UK - Dreadful

It's the way all things are going since the introduction of the Japanese JIT system, the time element is now extended, but Amazon do seem to be immune. 😇

    Reinforcing loose wall plugs.

However you repair this inadequate fixing it will happen again unless you make it a more structurally sound fixing, that means drilling deeper with longer fixings into a brick or timber stud, anything else is putting a plaster on a haemorrhage.

    Suggestions Please - Curved Wood

Get hold of a window board and cut one to 25mm deeper than the inside radius and two to 25mm above the outside radius (+arm thickness) laminate together, sand and finish to your taste, not a good description, but I am sure you get the idea.

    Joke Thread 4 (closed).

I always understood it to mean "Laugh out loud", unlike my OH who thought it meant "Lots of Love" and used it in her e-mails to relatives.

I live in a Rural district and can never understand why Farmers leave their Diesel tractors and vehicles ticking over all day when not in use?

Lead flashing or non lead flashing?

If you have a plunge saw and rail, get a masonry disc that fits the saw and use that to cut the slot for the lead flashing. The lead flashing generally needs wedging in place with small folded over pieces of lead before pointing.

    Handrail brackets

The reason my mind is made up, is the brackets and handrail are going into posts in the garden not a wall, the lag screws give adjustment to the positioning of the handrail around a curve.

    Handrail brackets

Fixings into a brick wall would be good as I assume most council houses where built of brick, if the internal walls where of the type of modern construction i.e. lightweight breeze block or even timber frame plasterboard faced unless the fixings where into the frame the fixings would eventually...

Sealant, vertical gap between widths of brickwork?

Expansion joints are necessary due to differential expansion between different materials and construction methods, the introduction of more efficient heating meant the temperature difference between the inside and outside of buildings also has an effect, garden walls are a different matter...

    Thicknesser & Planer/Thicknesser Help Please

I use a piece of plate glass on the outfeed table to set the blades at table height, never understood the other methods, seems to me they would introduce snipe on planing.

    Handrail brackets

I think the only compliance issue for handrails in the building Regulations is for height above the nosing and the 100mm ball rule for distance between uprights, but all for staircases, never seen anything in the BR with regards to specific fixings, except maybe a general note about fit for...

    India’s successful Moon Landing

It vexes me that we have come to the level of calling these boat people "immigrants" rather than what they are i.e. "illegal immigrants"

    Handrail brackets

Thanks for you considered responses guys, I am not trying to replace any brackets, it's a new installation in the garden up the side of a walkway, the garden is very steep and MOH is getting a bit infirm and unsteady on her feet.

It would not have been a waste of your time if you had read the original post, quite clearly it asks for a UK source and you posted my own image back at me.
