    Wood burning - Lime

Mine is the F600, double door front and side door, I don't clear out the ash at the bottom of the fire grate and just put a 500 long well seasoned Oak log on from the side door, close the air inlet and then open it a very small amount, the down wash facility works from the air tubes above the...

    Wood burning - Lime

I have had a few wood burning stoves and IMO the best one I have had is a Jotul, has an air wash down to keep the glass clean, still in use over ten years later, only one control and that is the air inlet, easy to use and keep in overnight.

Hand is forced - new decking required

Increasing the photo's somewhat it looks as though the decking is supported on raking shores off the wall supporting the paved area, is this correct, if so what are they? How far is it to the ground level below the decking?

    TV cookery....

Recently went to a local public house for a meal and had to compliment the parents of three children on how well behaved they where, unlike the adults at the far table who shouted throughout the whole meal, on the phone and playing tunes, absolutely no regard for the other dinners.

Hand is forced - new decking required

Have not read the whole post, but if supporting horizontal timbers on a vertical post I would not rely on bolts or screws to support the beams/joists, but support them on the top of the posts or even at a pinch joist hangers so the joint is in compression.

    TV cookery....

Agreed not everyone likes them either, current washing powder adverts always say at the end "Keep away from children" I agree with that also.

    Radio for workshop

This will not be popular, but IMO radios or any other extraneous noise making thing has no place in a machine shop.

    Pump

Had one on our rainwater harvester in France, the tag on the outlet to hang a bucket from always amused me, don't know why it just did.

Waterproofing plywood - trailer floor/deck use

I would remove the plywood and replace the cross members with aluminium channel and put the aluminium deck sheet back on.

    Lumberjack RT1500

Is it really seven years since I bought my Lumberjack RT1500, used it extensively over the years, today taking the arris off the four corners of ten 100mm square Oak fence posts 1.5m long, arris cut 1.2m long, did the job, still pleased with it.

Advice on joist support for lean-to structure

Rather than relying on the shear value of the bolts into the garage wall, I would chase out and fit masonry hangers pointed into the stretcher course of the brickwork, the roof only needs a four degree slope to effectively shed water to a gutter, firing piece's are only needed if you want a flat...

    Cooker hood modification

I would use tin snips, cut inside the line and fold over the edge, angle the corners and file the rough bits, use something like the wide jaw welding mole grips to fold the edge's.
