"Oily Glue" - is this a breakthrough, or just more Superglue?

I used to use Talcum Powder in cellulose dope to act as a sanding sealer on my model aircraft, they always smelt so nice. 😜

    Anyone handy with plaster?

Normal permanent repair is to attach expanded metal over the crack and plaster on that.

    Wooden turbines

There is an example of this on a factory/office you can see whilst driving towards Maidstone on the M25, its an open structure with helical blades, I have no more information on this, its just an observation.

    Best selling car 2023

Meanwhile the Electricity producers are sitting back and laughing at all of us, while the Governments push us more and more to using electricity, our infrastructure is old and will not be able to cope without massive investment, so I suppose it's self sustaining.

Using a planer/thicknesser blade height jig

I also use a piece of plate glass without the piece of copy paper, set up perfectly every time and never had any snipe, IMO if you set the blade higher than the outfeed table you can't avoid snipe.

Today was a very different day than I planned

I just wish I could teach my wife to close the back door, heating on, back door open when she goes to the bins, appalling waste of energy, I don't do bins too busy building stuff.

Drill press for cutting 16mm holes

Just my 2p worth, lot of talk of drill press quill run out, most will fully extend the quill and then measure the run out, IMO that's not the way to use a drill press, take the table up to the non extended quill and drill bit, minimum quill run out and an accurate hole.

Never let me go, wasn't that a song by David Essex? Ah ha it was "Hold me close" "Don't let me go"

    Log lamp...

Or you could take an old lamp and turn it into a wooden smoothing plane, or with the advance's in LiFe batteries and out-runner motors turn it into a model flying plane. 🤔

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. (attributed to Mark Twain)

Any central heating epxerts on here - oil fired Riello burner

Not unfair at all, solenoid's do not get weak, they either work or don't, do let us know when you have drained all the condensation water out of the tank it it starts working properly, of if you replace the Riello burner, I tried to be helpful, but I suggested three times to check the water...
