Just to stir the pot, has anyone noticed...

I've been led to believe that 'Legal Documents' refrain from using punctuation because that then leaves them open to 'interpretation' by the profession, depending upon the prevailing circumstance.

Royal Mail - complete ban on bladed items from 22nd April

I've recently had an altercation with EVRI. An Amazon purchase which was logged as "Handed to recipient in person" - an outright lie - the two parcels were left on the outside doormat with not even a knock on the door or a press of the bell push. It so happened that one of the parcels was...

    Haircut

:ROFLMAO: I was once approached in a pub after a Concert asking if I was part of ZZ Top:ROFLMAO: Interesting fact about them - - - the Drummer is the one without the beard - his name? Frank Beard !

    This could be interesting ...

    Very doubtful

It may well be worth a read but I'm offended by that image of a thread!! Using an image of a real thread would be so much easier and better overall. No screw/bolt has ever been made commercially with a sharp V and the run-out at the top could not come to a flat stop :(

    Haircut

Same here - in 1991 I auditioned for the part of Shakespeare in Sondheim's "The Frogs" so didn't have a haircut for quite some time before - I also grew a beard (naturally) and the idea was that after the last night (before the 'party') a hairdresser friend would trim it back to the 'normal'...

I presume that you mean 'factually accurate' and I must say that it is not 'close enough' for me :) ! The 'UK' did not exist when 'William' popped in - - - even 'Great Britain' didn't exist then either, that came about in 1707 with the Act of Union so naturally the 'UK' couldn't exist prior...

    Info needed please

I also bought one once but would never sell it - - - - I couldn't be that nasty to anyone who was thinking of taking up the hobby! :ROFLMAO:

    Joke Thread 4 (closed).

It took me a couple of 'reads' In de Pendant.

Not only that -- he pre-advertised the fact, which further depressed the price which was already in rapid decline!!! An absolute pillock!

    Floats

I think we both appreciate that we are chasing 'fairies' :D Of course, being in a 'workshop' rather than a controlled 'Inspection' environ means that working to better than 4dp is chasing fairies so you certainly shouldn't be 'shamed' - it was only your use of inch measure to describe an...

    Floats

You are obviously in a predicament. Having only Imperial slip gauges and a Metric Sine Vice ! You really need 0.8185499" or 20.791169mm, though of course I am being pedantic. Then again, you are talking about an angle being acurate to 'a tenth of a thou' ? again mixing units. Using Gauge...

    Allen Socket Screws

Clearly the unintended consequence of poor education - or a sloppy attitude to 'history' / 'past convention' !

    Allen Socket Screws

When I was selling such 'Fasteners' - there was - and I suspect that there probably still is - a distinction between a 'Screw' and a 'Bolt' - the bolt being partially and the screw fully, threaded.

    Electric vehicles

The important word there is 'CAN' - and in fact in July 2021 the Chinese CRRC 600 had a planned speed of 370mph - just because a Maglev system CAN achieve these speeds does not mean that they always must do so, I therefore fail to see the point of your final statement about not being much use in...

    Breaking News: Post Office Scandal

I understand your points Terry but I was never suggesting that there should be a case for 'Sub-Postmaster' vs Fujitsu. My stance is that it should be The Crown vs Fujitsu. Although not unusual it is still hardly the best way to secure proper accountability Agreed, removing Fujitsu from their...

    Breaking News: Post Office Scandal

With all due respect, Terry, I think you are missing the point that I made earlier, that FUJITSU were/are not just the providers of the software/system but also the OPERATORS. They have appologised for their part in providing the Post Office with 'inappropriate' information which gave rise to...

    Breaking News: Post Office Scandal

Fujist were not 'merely contracted to provide Horizon' - they were/are also the operators of the system and, in that capacity, they were/are responsible for the day-to-day safe and accurate operation. They plainly failed and not only that, contributed to the whole debackle/cover-up in an...

    Breaking News: Post Office Scandal

It was mentioned by one of the legal team - to Jo IIRC - that that had been so for 300 years, and no doubt that was/is the case for 'Royal Mail' but in fact 'The Post Office' (in it's current guise) has only existed since 1st April 2012 (I wonder if there is any significance in that date? !!)...

    Breaking News: Post Office Scandal

Regrettably, thorough enquiries take time which essentially means money! --- and even if the result is 'positive' and culprits are named, they will seldom if ever really be held to account - ie. called upon to shoulder the cost of the enquiry.
