    M2 Screw? What bit please?

There has been agreat deal of confusion in this thread (no pun intended 😖). The issue about 'Coarse' ot 'Fine' pitch is totally irrelevant - the real subject is the shape of the ScrewDRIVER - or, even more precisly, the RECESS in the screw head. Of course the physical or nominal size of the...

well they burn wood, so wood related......?

We have a 'Local' baker who has been in business for a very long time. They bake throughout the day so fresh bread is available well into the afternoon. Greggs opened up NEXT DOOR !! Apparently after some discussion as to why Greggs had not approached them with a view to buying them out, they...

    Fokker S11 Trainer

That does seem 'odd' - - - when I tried that (concerned that I had made an error - and that there was such a company) it asked if I meant 'Wolesley'. Although Wolesley started in Birmingham and moved to Oxford when William Morris (Lord Nuffield) bought it out of receivership in 1927, I have a...

    Fokker S11 Trainer

I know I'm a pedant but I think this is important. Throughout this thread the reference has been to 'WOLSEY' engines, whereas I'm sure it ought to be 'WOLESLEY' - as manufactured by Wolesley Motors Ltd. initially in Birmingham created by a co-operation between Austin & Vickers.

    M2 Screw? What bit please?

That's why I was somewhat circumspect in my pervious post - PoziDriv only specifies down to 0 but I knew Philips had a 00 - didn't know about 000. Every day's a schoolday 👨‍🎓

    M2 Screw? What bit please?

You probably need a set of 'Watchmakers' screwdrivers which usually have 'rotating' buttons on the non-working end. Here's a link ...

    M2 Screw? What bit please?

I'm surprised that you are asking this question Dave. Have you not yet run my 3Wire program? You'll see M2 is 0.4mm pitch (Coarse series) but it depends what you really need to know. The size & form of the thread (M2) will have little to no bearing upon which screwdriver bit you need, that is...

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

I have a customer who still uses Lotus - on Win 98!

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

Ah... I don't have a 'Company Mandate' to adhere to - - - I do have 'Office' installed as well because there are occasions when I need to support a customer who does have this restiction and it's difficult to advice which [Icon] to click to affect a particular action if you don't actually...

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

You can still get it - and you can [Save As] if you need to supply a modifyable file to the less aware who only know 'Word' - Printing to a .PDF is equally simple (though of course not easily editable). The latest version (2021) is £320 which is a one time purchase - rather than the 'annual...

    Bench Grinder upgrade

I could hardly believe what I was seeing at that link!! Further linking to the 'Surface Grinder' increased my dis-belief! A Jones & Shipman 540 can be had from eBay for a great deal less than the 'attachment' - OK not necessarily the best looking machine but even a well used 'dog' would be...

    Drill Sharpening

I buy Carbide 'Micro' drills (1/8" shank) between 0.3 & 6mm cutting dia. (though it has been some while since I needed any) - most mid-range are ~£1 - £2 but extremes do get up to £6-£8 ish.

If you use Threads, I'd like your opinion

I also account for 'Tolerance Class' and even the (often miniscule) effect of the Helix/Lead angle which does become important with multi-start threads - also covered.

If you use Threads, I'd like your opinion

Aaaaagh! Apple 🤬 Sorry Deema, not a fan -- and I haven't yet tried to develop 'Apps'.

If you use Threads, I'd like your opinion

@Gerry - My program reports the Max and Min figures that should be read from the Mic. for the thread to be in tolerance - essentially the opposite of your aproach. Both valid of course.

If you use Threads, I'd like your opinion

That might be an 'iterative' process Sandy but certainly do-able. Program made available.

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

It's actually worse that that Roy. Micky$oft held back information regarding the inner workings of 'Windows' from all other developers for quite some time. In addition, WordPerfect insisted that their version for Windows should seamlessly read and use all documents previously created with their...

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

Remember them? I still use them !! WordPerfect since V2 - now on V10 ( I don't write much!) Vastly superior to any version of 'Word'. I also have customers (published authors) who wouldn't be without. One is still using 'Card Box' - admittedly the Windows version - as her main research...
