Are you sure it's a Clarke 12C & not a 12D? There is no mention on their lathe manuals download page - Clarke Woodlathes - Download Manuals I think, but am not positive, that all Clarke lathes have a 3/4" x 16tpi thread on the headstock - so any woodturning chuck with this thread should suit...

Peruse the attached leaflet. From memory, the first pic looks like a mortice cutter holder. The 2nd, 3rd & 4th a screw chuck. 5 & 6, don't know.

Although the APTC screw chuck is supplied with a rod a better tool would be a correctly sized 'C' spanner. I say correct size as Axminster sell one to fit their chucks but it may be the wrong size for this application. C spanners are a fairly easy to find tool. Edit: In the post 'Bought a lathe...
