Should I cut my arbor to be able to bore deeper?

How will shortening the morse taper help? The black mar near the chuck will not change! Leave it be. Look at smaller chucks and tapers.

Awaiting delivery of a dedicated psu, fan cooled with variable 2v voltage increase, so I just hope that solves the issue. If not, then the 12v regulator may be the solution. thanks to all

Caution, consider the final job as what goes on the table gets transfered to the planed surface and will impact on any paint, varnish or stain.

    Door dipping gone wrong (maybe?)

I take it the lock is the original mortice style and not rim. Always an issue with the mortice lock as it took out the tenon at that joint. I am going to dig out my multimeter to establish dc at camera end! Cables now unwound. Cut outs tend to be at night so I guess the infra red has more of an impact on the draw than the camera. Motion sensor mode also switched off. Amps, of what?

    Wood Repair - Fireplace mantle

Is there a finish on the wood? I would try brown paper, manila envelope, and warm iron. Hold paper in place over wax stain and apply the iron, to paper only. The paper should draw the wax into the paper from the heat. Not too long though and not too hot!
