    Garden Storage

So you should be, looks brilliant! How is it fairing up to the weather? And did you apply any sealant/preservative or just leave bare? I have a shedload (pun intended) of pallet wood all ready to make a version of this to house a couple of push bikes and the lawnmower, plus a few other bits...

    Bandsaw fence.......

Quick search for home made bandsaw fence found this on Matthias Wandels website, version of his bandsaw made by Lucian from Romania that is a thing of beauty in itself. http://www.woodgears.ca/bandsaw/lucian/index.html In it Lucian mentions he built his fence based on an article in American...

WORX mini saw review....How did I live without it?

Also only comes with only one blade, as opposed to the one Graham reviewed with 3. And if you scroll down to the Additional Information bit it states .. * Please note item 4281650 has previously been on sale at 39.99. Which may have been tempting, but at £54.99 today, reduced from £79.99...

Problem solved. Quite brilliant actually. Or. As Jimmy Carr would say ... "I wash Mr. Tinkle first thing in the morning .. then I'm good for eight hours"

Newbie buying machined timber - unreasonable expectations?

Just get a scrap of 3x2, cramp it in your vice/workmate/whatever, pencil line on the face and edge that you can see with a combination square, adopt a good, sure footed stance, then draw BACK the saw along the furthest corner to get the blade started in the wood, and off you go. 5mm or so in...

    Aldi on Thursday

What's it like under load? Say a 3" hole saw, does it/will it cope? I could really use a pillar drill, but that keyed chuck is putting me off a bit, would it be replaceable with a keyless one? Also what's the recommendation these days for a decent bit for morticing, spade bit? or anything...

    Flooring a garage

Laid it on some spare foam underlay for Lam flooring I had, it covers one half of the workshop as I said, where it ends and the car resides I chamfered the edge off and put a few screws in to hold the edge down, other than that it's free floating. If for whatever reason it perishes over the...

    Lidl - 12th November

Picked up the chisels, sanding set, and some triple AAA rechargeable batteries. The sanding set has a LOT of sheets to it, the sponge blocks Ok, the sanding block itself though is pants, horrible size and shape, though the springs to hold the sandpaper in place are removable, so will make...

    Today I acquired....

Nice find! They're very good, I picked one up from Aldi on promo a few weeks ago for £19.99, the only drawback is, as you pull it out, it tends to coil as it goes, bit of a PITA as it then tends to snag itself on every available large object in it's path. Still, better than trailing air hose...

    Belt sander

Yep, good little sander, and as you say, belts readily available, Toolstation do them for £2.32 per 5 pack ATM. Quick search shows Axminster doing the Sander for pennies less than 88 quid!
