    Dado set

Is not Freud SD308 (mentioned in your original post) 8-inch ?
  3. F

    Dado set

Not a direct answer to your question, but perhaps this can help you to simplify your choice. You mentioned two options 8" and 6" - consider this 1. Is the motor of your saw powerful enough to handle 8 inch dado without stressing itself? 2. Do you actually have a long list of projects in mind...

    Long Clamp Advice

I know you mentioned that not looking for sash clamps, but have you considered Sash Clamp Heads? Having those you can quickly make clamps of any length (even from timber off-cuts) and switch between different lengths easily. To give you an idea what I am talking about:

Is there a retailer carrying Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) thicknesser in the UK

Having received my JWP-12L I can confirm that @Myfordman and @Nick Laguna UK were correct - JWP-12L does indeed contain Brushed motor and it is noisy (90+dB when there is no load, according to an application on my mobile phone).

Is there a retailer carrying Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) thicknesser in the UK

Sort of. I found and ordered it but delivery is more than week overdue. So I am not entirely sure I am actually getting it from the supplier. In addition to induction motor it also features: - turbine to eject chips (like Dewalt 735) - makes active dust extractor non mandatory. I have seen...

New Banggood Router Top - Great value?

Did you make a note of the size of this thing? Panel size 240x200x5mm For comparison: Trend panel RTI/PLATE/A - Router table insert plate alloy Length 305.8 mm Width 229 mm Thickness 6.35 mm Banggood panel may be OK for a trim router, but looks too small/thin for a real router table use...

Best planer thicknesser for cupped, warped boards

If you want to flatten many boards then (ideally) you need planer. Thicknesser (in its default function) will leave boards just as cupped/warped but thinner. If you are happy to invest your time into making just the thicknesser work then you could devise a jig to flatten boards on the...

    Best router for table

CRT MK3 Manual has some compatible routers listed. Tritons use their own hole configuration (not compatible with other routers). I had to drill new holes for my Triton MOF001 to fit it into Trend CRT MK3 using metric thread holes on the router base. Triton also has 4 imperial thread holes but I...

    Another dust extraction lost soul

LOL. I have a decent English size "workshop" - L2m x W2.4 x H2m (about 40% of single car garage) It is served by dual motor Record Power CGV286-4 which lives behind the workbench (between it and the wall) and takes next to no space at all. See circled area in the photo - if you can spot it :-)...

Is there a retailer carrying Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) thicknesser in the UK

Thank you Darren. Unfortunately machinery4wood sell JWP-12 while I am looking for JWP-12L. These can be easily differentiated by the L model having a depth gauge on the front face while older model does not have it.

Is there a retailer carrying Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) thicknesser in the UK

Hoping that someone more knowledgeable in UK Workshop community could suggest an online (or offline not too far from Basingstoke) retailer with Jet JWP-12L (2022 model) available to order. In the usual places I have found only the older JWP-12 (not L) model. Nearest place I see with JWP-12L is...

    pilot drill recommendations please

After breaking all my Makita/Trend/Dewalt pilot bits I have been buying from this seller on ebay: ukdrills (no affiliation) Current listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271294574301 These still break just as frequently, so I just buy them again in packs of 10, as they are relatively inexpensive...

    Dust extraction - bandsaws

You may want to clarify if you are actually looking to reduce airborne dust (the kind that kills your lungs) or just want to clear out chips and plan to protect your lungs with something else. AW37E is a chip extractor Filter Performance 100% >30 micron If you want a dust extractor then...

    Axminster aw1950b bandsaw

That was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately it does not fit due to shape of internals of the switch. The only way I could see to make it fit was to cut into the frame, but my bandsaw was under warranty at the time, so I decided against it.

    Axminster aw1950b bandsaw

Congratulations with your new tool ;-). Have fun. Interesting about the switch away from ceramic guides. I must not be in a minority who does not like them then. If you want to continue shop vac route - you may want to try following: 1. block the large outlet on the back 2. disconnect bottom...

    Axminster aw1950b bandsaw

Supplied blade is OK to start with. Gives you some time to figure what blade witdh/TPI means before you decide which better quality blade(s) you may need. Don't use supplied blade for resawing particle board though :-) instantly dull blade is guaranteed. Ceramic guides are just a personal...
