    Customs duty

    Can’t add to the import duty debate but would say that if we are able, given current climate, buying local via UK dealers does feel like the right and good thing to do. May be a couple of quid more but long term is a worthwhile collective investment.

    While we’re all on lock down Over last week or so kids and SWMBO took opportunity to come out to workshop and learn to do some turning. My daughter particularly enjoyed the decoration / pyrography. Fun project anyway. Simon

    FFS guys, really! Not sure you’ve understood what’s going on. Getting some timber for hobby / home projects is not an essential task. I’ll not add anything to this thread from here on but as part of day job I’m trying to arrange who should / should not may have to live at a power station...

    Not sure they pass the ‘essential’ test for either their staff to be key workers and thus be exposed to the risk or for us to warrant leaving house to make trip.

    For spindle work a record twin bar lathe could be a way to go. Buy anyone used then order bed bars from a steel stockiest to suit your needs.
