    TRV adaptors, any ideas?

Not much of a plumber then if they can’t cope with a bit of Iron-no doubt they are fully conversant with plastic pipes and push fit joints 🤔🤔🤔 best bit of pre owned kit I’ve ever bought and it’s not had much use - 1.1/2 “down to 1/2 “ bsp . Absolute joy to use

Can you explain this table saw cut?

I hope so , I had to look at the pic several times as it looks like the kerf stops an inch or so from either end .. so hopefully same applies to the riving knife..

Can you explain this table saw cut?

Why is the riving knife off set from the blade not to mention the invisible guard? ? Has that timber been dropped onto the blade ??

You’re most welcome- I was completely surprised as I assumed it was the same install process as timber but when I looked into it I was amazed. Even down to using the clips made by the manufacturer and not the universal one’s available online etc .

I've never used a sliding mitre saw before, but I've just bought one. Looking for safety/operating advice.

Hi and welcome to ukw - 1st thing to do is read all the relevant safety info especially the do,s and don’ts . Next with the saw not plugged in follow the set up info -it might be under the heading ( before you use the saw ) you need to confirm it cuts at 90 deg and 45 deg respectively. Then...

Yes I forgot about the temp underfoot and you did well to add the extra support for the heavy pots - I love that sort of forward thinking, from memory the 300 centres is on point unlike this complete disaster I’ll be removing. Not sure what the customer is planning to replace it with atm but...

    Any Snap-on experts on here

In essence most quality brand tools are more than adequate for the average consumer but I like the no argument guarantee. Snap on used to do specials where you paid for say a set of sockets and got a shallow set for free or various other tools sometimes blue point but still a good buy .

    Any Snap-on experts on here

My phone is having a senior moment…you’re correct and when my mate had his garage the snap on rep would take any amount until the tool was paid for . Larger purchases like tool cabinets / or large workshop equipment were treated as usual credit agreements and you paid a set amount each week but...

I actually like the choice of colours and designs of composite boards and overall yours looks stunning and just by your photo I can see that you take good care of it . If possible you should address the ends that you mentioned suffer from swelling before it’s beyond repair..

The biggest issue when I researched composite decking was the subframe has to be designed for composite ( the distance centre to centre is less than timber ,, so it’s not as simple as replacing timber for composite without re designing the subframe , raised decks have to be installed with solid...

So I assume they could ( should ) of used hardcore to build up level , then then dry mix sharp sand / cement, I think it more luck than judgement that joists have lasted that long - I think the plywood has helped to protect joists but it sounds like they were next to fail .. if you go the...

SawStop, stops on contact with skin is coming to Europe soon!

There is plenty of room for the usual safety precautions that you mention- push sticks feather boards, then you have the likes of jessem clear stops , various other systems that only allow the work piece to be fed in one direction etc .the way I see s s is it is there as a last resort. If...

    Yet another bodge job

No 5 . Leave it as is and rip the whole patio up when you have the time . No point spending money on a job that has been bodged , no doubt there will be other horrors so just let it be . Blobs , spots , dot and dab is pants as it leaves voids under the slabs for water to hold and freeze in the...

    Any Snap-on experts on here

I think the selling point for snap on is the lifetime no quibble garantee on most of their tools , a lot of my friends in the trade rate them over the others - I recently lost the shaft for my ratchet screwdriver down a duct but managed to get one on eBay for a lot less than direct from snap on...

I’ve used both over the years and like both ,the one advantage with a pull saw is the thinner kerf . But each to their own 🤗🤗you tend to not put additional pressure on a pull stroke as you can do with a western saw . But agree with as much practice as possible and relax , let the saw do the work...

Yeah there is no help for these types they are not going to make it into their senior years without serious injury and those that do will get there by sheer luck and therefore will be in complete denial if you were to show them what they are doing wrong ..

Thanks for the confirmation, as an expert on s s what is your view on this thread . Do you consider it as a safety feature or an injury reduction device . Is there a difference, I came across these saws many years ago and it was the job site version that came with a trolley ghat converted into...
