    Headless TRVs

This actually makes more sense as then you have spare heads .personally I’d fit the complete valves and keep the old heads as spares . Drayton / pegler / and Honeywell all do service kits so you shouldn’t really need to replace the body unless the system is contaminated with sludge ..

Tbh I’m aware you can get the heads only ,, or the heads/ bodies combined but not sure you can but the body’s on their own but I’ll stand corrected..

    1/2" Router

Hi and welcome- if you have never purchased or used a 1/2 “ router then tread carefully. As above in terms of understanding the limits of the tool and safe use are paramount to your safety . If you have never used any router before then buy a cheap as chips 1/4 “ plunge router to get familiar...

    hinges

When you say quality? Do you mean cosmetic appearance or strength and durability. If the later I use these for heavy duty gates with suitable stainless steel bolts and washers.. Cranked or straight depending on the gate being flush or inset to the frame ..

Anyone got a Record Sabre 350 / 450 bandsaw or know the type and size of the slots ?

I have the bs 400 and it’s so frustrating that the mitre slot is not a standard 19 mm / 3/4” I did think about having slot milled out but don’t think it was feasible.. interesting idea re changing the table though 🤔🤔

Tree removal, which type of drill?

True enough, I’ve seen a few that are tracked and they sure make short work of stumps but they are fine if you have a goal post sized gateway to drive it through. It’s not got a gearbox either so you end up doing a full workout-I’m sure my arms were stretched at the end of a weekend 😩😩😩

Restoring and painting old corrugated "iron" / metal roofing sheets (galvanised)

A 5ltr can of bitumen and a suitable primer would be my choice . You could spend some crazy money buying special paints that promise everything but bitumen is cheap and doesn’t need any special equipment.. it will also seal any pin holes or hairline cracks.

Tree removal, which type of drill?

The one I hired is about 30” at its widest point ( the wheels ) they are extremely heavy and will take 2 or 3 to lift it .. that said it hard work manoeuvring it into position and keeping it there but the end result is no ugly stumps..

    Budget power tools.

Check everything is tight but not over tight. Read the manual especially anything safety related. Read other table saw safety threads using the search function. And never take your stresses out using a power tool especially a table saw . Set up your own safety regime and Ensure others around you...

Plugging existing hinge holes in MDF

Don’t beat yourself up- you have done well as they look good , as long as they close without any resistance evenly then don’t worry about a few splinters and chips - there are plenty of fillers that can take care of that ( I prefer the dry powder mixed with water based stain ) test on a bit of...

Tree removal, which type of drill?

My take is to cut the main trunk as indicated and be prepared to remove a few of the feather edge boards -unless it’s a slot in panel then lift out with help . Looking at that trunk a chainsaw is your best option however contact with soil and even small bricks will quickly blunt the chain …. Edit

Tree removal, which type of drill?

If you can score it as deep as possible then declare chemical warfare it will eventually be worm food . Just need to get it below ground level and let nature do its job..
