How is your weather and have you experienced any summer yet ?

I’d say we have had a decent mix of rain, sun , high winds and a few super hot days here and there. Still the greenhouse has and still is producing more tomatoes and cucumbers than a I can give away..🤗🤗

Saw blade thickness and safe handling

1st comment I’ll make is your saw should be set up before use , the blade should be square to the mitre slot and also to the fence . All this is carried out with the saw disconnected from the mains . The relationship between the blade and the riving knife is important and while I’m not an expert...

    Craftsmanship. The simple definition.

Well @Dauph has recently joined and seems a little more humble - he has posted an intro and some pics of what he describes as passable boxes he,s made .. I think they are far better than passable.. I think we all need a change of subject..

It’s the new way of mugging people from your front room. There will always be vulnerable, gullible or just plain old honest folk that will fall for these scams- it’s so easy to let your guard down for a minute or two and it’s all over . I’ve been there and I’m in no way stupid or gullible just...

That £2 would of been just the start , I had a phone call yesterday from a number I didn’t recognise - it was a pre recorded message advising me ghat my Amazon prime membership was going to be auto renewed at £79 or thereabouts and to select option 1 if I wanted to cancel it. The funny thing...

    Headless TRVs

Matching up new and old trv,s is and always will be a pita as more efficient valves come onto the market the size and design often changes to reflect this . Craftsmanship. The simple definition.

So new posts were not an option and time was against us so I basically made good counter sinking the screws , removed all the excess glue/ sawdust and planed and sanded and refilled all the joints , used longer screws where necessary and planed and blended the 2 pieces until the joint was near...

    Craftsmanship. The simple definition.

I’ll say this and I know it’s not everyone’s way of thinking but I’ve found over the years that several of the trades I’ve dealt with have several different levels of work quality. The absolute best is reserved for working in their own home and maybe a few very close friends and family members...
