    Fixing down t and g OSB3

I would also use screws rather than nails . It’s easier later down the line if you need to make alterations or need to carry out any repairs doesn’t take that long as @Sideways says above once it’s all set up .

    Wanted Beading trim

Maybe search out old brown ( oak ) furniture and recycle it. Charity shops are a good source to try . It’s often cheap as there is little or no demand for it.

    Mentor Wanted

I’ve read most of the posts to this thread and the previous . The 1st request I thought as I have no formal training in woodworking of any type there is not much I can add or contribute to assist the op . But some of the advice says to practice, make mistakes, give it a go etc which reminded me...

    Favourite hand plane and why

A true workhorse for not much money , I’ve had it + 25 years and it is still on the original blade . Yours looks like a much older model but has more or less the same shape. Good tool and clearly made to last . 👍👍

    Rodding it out.

Very impressive work, I see many hours of preparation and planning and then the work itself. Awesome 👏👏

    Fence question

I’ve thought about this thread and several decent suggestions but the op did say cheaper the better . I think a rub down with some quality 80 grit sand paper will remove a lot of the splinters and roughness followed by 2 or 3 coats of quality fence paint . Toolstation often have offers on these...

Hello from the Northern island of Japan, where bears roam...

Hello and welcome to ukw , brave move to relocate so far from uk . I don’t cope well in anything above 21deg so forget 30 let alone 35 in your shop . I like your use of waste timber so keep posting your progress.👍🤗

    Favourite hand plane and why

My record block plane is my favourite. Great for trimming small lippings and putting chamfers on edges . I’ve also found it useful for taking the rough edges from plastic cladding etc .

    Is that a makita nb2012 ??

    Fence question

It’s almost impossible to prevent splinters from what is effectively rough sawn timber . Sanding and then a coat of paint or varnish may help but it will be extremely difficult and as you say expensive. The best defence is a warning to the students to stay away from the fence or to put something...

SDS drills and drill bits... and chisels

Hilti and heller are amongst the best drill bits I’ve used and are my 1st and 2nd choice after that makita and dewalt are decent quality for general drilling. I avoid the real cheap ones and definitely anything unbranded imo ..

    OSB or Ply?

I’d rather put my faith into or in your case onto ply , only you will know the weight involved eg those loading it and gear combined-600 mm wide and 1.2 m long will I imagine flex quite a bit in the middle . Myself I’d be looking at 18 mm ply if it will be used on a regular basis or if using the...

SawStop, stops on contact with skin is coming to Europe soon!

Yes I’ve said in my post I have both corded and cordless. But not because I can’t untangle a lead or I keep tripping over it . I was replying to @Ed Weber post regarding the dude with 1/2 a finger advertising s s .

Advice required for building a lean-to in a tight space

Is the property on the right hand side your neighbour?? If yes is there a boundary between your property and the neighbours? From your pic there’s a condense pipe outlet from the boiler running down that wall which he may need access to at some point in the future ..not an expert in building...

SawStop, stops on contact with skin is coming to Europe soon!

Most advertising in the uk is arrogant and assumes people are stupid and while this is true of a small percentage most of us are quite sensible-and intelligent. The ones I find annoying and arrogant are for cordless hoovers -in fact anything with a power cable is all of a sudden after multiple...

Ironically I’m in hospital as my mom has broken her elbow and hip .. not a place I’d want to spend any time in other than the 2 visits a day ..
