A little truth for a change.

Come on! Even Phil and Deema know that 2+2=4.

    Joke Thread 4 (closed).

We had this a few weeks ago. Fossil fuels are environmentally damaging and non-renewable. Besides which, everyone would point out that there was no refuelling infrastructure.

Interesting. You focus on flourishing vegetation, I'm more concerned about extreme weather events. You say tomatoes, I say tornados.

Shouldn't this be in the Climate change thread? (And vice-versa).

    Hall Effect

I appreciate that, but amplifiers are also very small these days.

I struggle to understand why some of you seem to be obsessed by the gender issue. I'm just grateful that I was lucky enough to grow up with no doubts about my sexuality or gender. I imagine, however that it can be a living hell for those who do.

Well let us know when you identify the actual benefits. I believe the markets are doing well right now, in America also. Probably got nothing to do with Brexit. Immigration from the EU is down, immigration from outside the EU is up.

A little truth for a change.

Truth. A word that's been so devalued by Trump, amongst others, that Phil Pascoe thinks he can start this thread claiming that his cherry picked, bias confirmation linked film is the truth, whereas in fact it's simply another point of view(it might be true, who knows? Phil doesn't). Truth is...

    Hall Effect

Does a quadrature encoder give you position? Speed and direction, but not position, surely. Enlighten me.

    Hall Effect

I wonder why the Hall effect device is so big? Is it maybe an industrial device? The actual semiconductor sensors are quite small..

A little truth for a change.

Are solar or wind powered rockets a viable alternative? I'd say no. Are there alternatives to ICE cars and gas boilers? Yes, although they come with some of their own problems. So you're really presenting a false dichotomy situation, wherein we only have two options, stop everything that might...

A little truth for a change.

I don't think it is all that different. I suppose the point is that with our of town shopping malls and superstores, the consolidation of healthcare facilities etc., most people don't live that way these days.

A little truth for a change.

Of course we smart at the reality! So do a lot of those who voted to leave, the ones who are brave and honest enough to admit that they were duped. What opportunities did the other Jacob actually identify, in his short tenure as Minister for Brexit opportunities (a role that has been quietly...

That's very good, is it a Banksy?

A little truth for a change.

Confirmation bias. Of which we are probably all guilty to a degree, but when flying in the face of such overwhelming scientific consensus, random tubers and fossil fuel shills are your hunting grounds.

Indeed, but that does have consequences for everyone.

A little truth for a change.

It's not remotely related to climate change either, apart from the fact that the same people who disbelieve CC also rant about diversity generally. There's a strong correlation, but it could just be coincidence. I know (old)people who scoff at CC on the grounds that they have no children or...

A little truth for a change.

I fear this is a gross simplification, and a poor analogy. Unless, of course, your body is partly covered in sheet ice(I'm fairly certain mine isn't, but there are regions that are difficult to inspect these days), which reflect the sun's rays, but will melt as your body temperature increases...

    Festool Carvex

I would imagine you're right about it being the charger, even though most devices these days seem to be switched mode, and work from 90v to 250v or something. Maybe it's a very fast/high power charger?
