    Jet 60a Planer

The Jet manual is, to say the least, a bit lightweight. Whereas the Powermatic version is much more extensive. This is for the 6" jointer but other than the bed size it's identical to the 8 inch Jet: http://content.powermatic.com/assets/ma ... man_EN.pdf

    Suspect tax scam

I get these or the old "you have a parcel" and similar text rubbish often but always good to spread the word as phishing/smishing and similar scams seem to be taking more folk for a ride these days. Assuming you have a PP account (I do, if you don't - big hint) any contact (usually emails, never...

Parcel collection from Italy to UK

Can't help there, I've never left my coat in Sardinia... Seriously, claim on your insurance if it was big money or get somebody to parcel it up and take it to the local PO. For more yo-yo Fedex, UPS etc will collect providing it's also parceled up and addressed. I've had then do that for me...

    Harvey table saw refurbishment

Might be worth a look at putting a chute in, 30-45 degree fall really helps with extraction. Although I suppose many might be happy without.

    Tool sharpening scam warning

It's Travellers or The Travelling community these days. As I alluded to up above, some good, some bad. Some are the nicest and accommodating sort of folk you'll meet, others are complete whatevers and leave anywhere they've been like an open sewer. I think most of them in GB could be classified...

    Tool sharpening scam warning

PM me I can do very good deal on..... : ) I used to get the carpet boys, the "we'll paint your roof sir" boys etc, not so much now but still see and hear about the tool merchants either stolen or counterfeit. Supposed to be a specialised police squad but, well, with cutbacks hear very little...

    Claymore

It was great fun Sam wasn't it, I'm sure you recall being stuck behind 3 Dukes/Montgomery/McBurney trucks for 10s of miles all the way to Gatehouse of Fleet or somewhere.

Bosch belt sander GBS 75 ae changing drive belt - how?

Only took you 4 days..... : ) Will keep this in mind if and when next needed although the method I mentioned takes a few minutes but maybe best to do it the gentle way as you described.

    Harvey table saw refurbishment

That's looking well, great value for money. Hard to tell from these or previous images but Is the sawdust chute shaped, if there is one, or just a flat bottom?

    What Is This tool?

^^^ Yep, see nothing, often related to Google password issues. Imgur works very well with the site, don't even need to sign in.

Theory of interior house door (and frame) fitting

If I'm reading your description correctly you want to leave a gap for a carpet under the frame? Cut the old carpet out or sling it completely and have the frame on the hard surface of the floor. Building the frame before fitting is generally the best way. Personally I'd hang the doors to suit...

Bosch belt sander GBS 75 ae changing drive belt - how?

New belt will be a bit on the stiff side but a bit of force/leverage is needed. Start on the small pulley, lube the big pulley with a little F/Liquid, and slowly lever the belt on whilst rotating it, ensure belt on the small pulley doesn't ride up over the flange. Warming up the belt with mild...

    Legit or not..?

They are indeed an Irish company. Their main retail business in Ireland is Electro Direct Sales run from a shop/premises in Athlone, Co Westmeath. https://www.electrodirect.ie/ which in turn is owned by KNN Media. I guess the Micotech Uk thing is to widen their market into the UK but I imagine...
