    Vertical bike storage?

Much prefer storing horizontally. Less space taken up, pedals and bars can sit head to toe. Some nice fixtures linked to above. I’ve never liked suspending bikes from the rim on a ceiling hook as many do. Controversial view I know but there you are.

Kitty 613 bandsaw blade length confusion

Have you fully wound off the tension adjustment? This will bring the top wheel down. Also ensure the blade is not caught anywhere, especially at the back of the frame. Hope not educating your grandmother etc : )

    Have you noticed....

It's near 85%, usual HP etc but PCP has become very popular in recent years. Quite concerning.

    Laser levels

Measure out from adjacent walls and align laser to your marks. Lasers only deal in straight and level lines not squareness. If you need just lines you can, as in most lasers, switch to non levelling stationary mode. Handy for diagonals etc.

Why do so many woodworking youtubers use Blues/Bluegrass background music

No Voidy Splintery Plywood Basics then?, I suppose half the comments would be “why aren’t you using real ply” etc. I’m glad you’ve finally admitted to being a millionaire….long suspected. : )

Did anybody endure the first video to find out his problem was and what he actually made, if anything? I lost the will to live once he made it all the way to the coffee place. @TheUnicorn Plus you have to use Baltic ply, non of your rubbish old voidy splintery stuff the rest of us use...

    Joke Thread III

Hello Keith. Best in 42 pages. Loved Barry, esp Hamish and Dougal. Staying with him and our feathered friends: You know about the guy who shot a golden eagle. He was in court in front of a magistrate. The magistrate said: "This is a dreadful thing". He said: "I never intended to. I was...

    Grrrrr...Milwaukee, what a con.

Jet, Powermatic et al: . They used to be owned by Walter Meier AG based in Switzerland (Walter Meier Tooling in the States, hence the WMT that @MikeK mentions). About 10 years or so ago Walter Meier sold out to Tenex Capital Management based in NYC who then listed the brands under the JPW...

    Grrrrr...Milwaukee, what a con.

Just a thought, if we all stopped buying Chinese made tools etc would there be any toolshops or tool distribution companies left? Personally I’m not overly fussed where my tools come from as long as they do the job and do it well. But I’m happy that it helps my local and online dealers stay in...

    SIP 01314 sliding mitre saw

Hi Bruce, afraid Roger/Luke did a runner about 8 yrs ago. Looks like he was here just to try and sort out his motor problem, hopefully he managed to get something done, hard to know. Or bought a new one. Fingers crossed you get a response/help on this thread. Wouldn’t do any harm to also post an...

    Happy

It was a bit savage for a while, not so bad these days. Kilkenny? The odd decent hurler about those parts. Near the Barrow River? I'll check out the video. It's geo protected here.

    Grrrrr...Milwaukee, what a con.

Sheffield made phones and PCs of course. Seriously, as said, hard to avoid. Pleasantly surprised to discover Makita still manufacture some items in Telford.

Motor choice for Wadkin AGS10 restoration

I’ve tidied up this thread. In fairness to the OP I hope it still makes sense. But please note that if anybody cannot convey an opinion in a respectful and polite manner it’s best not to post, just move on elsewhere.

    Is it any wonder why.....

Voter ID is already used in a part of the UK for decades. Nobody seems to mind.

Which would be the better mitre saw to buy?

If I were in your position I'd get a Metabo 254mm. Will leave you with 7/800 quid to spend elsewhere. Appreciate your reasoning with batteries etc but with a Mitre Saw and extension lead (where needed) isn't a big deal.
