One thing, I was going to order some blades from the site Derek linked, but they are all 5 inch blades, rather than 5 and one eighth as specified by Knew concept, who state clearly that shorter blades will not...

    Lazurus Planes

Well, it went for £800. I guess we have to assume that being a craftsman and a woodworker as well, the guy who made it actually knows a bit about the subject and has not gone to all that trouble to make something that is not fit for purpose as well as being very nice to look at... but without...

    Stanley No 1

I know what you mean, paying that kind of cash seems kinda daft, unless of course you can afford it. I did just buy a bedrock number 2 on E-bay, for what I considered a pretty good price of £200. It's needs the usual TLC, which I am very much looking forward to doing and should be a nice little...

    Floating shelves

A much easier way is to make a box frame of 25mm softwood with some cross noggins, fit that to the wall by normal plugs and screws, then clad the front , top and bottom with whatever thickness of plain or veneered MDF you like and voila...... cheers, Mark

Help! Smelly foxes under the workshop

I just had our 3 chickens ripped to pieces in the night by a fox - it did not even eat any of them, just mindless slaughter. I hate them!! Get the council out to capture and kill them. Trouble is, lots of people think they are cute and cuddly and even feed them, causing massive problems, as they...

best place to buy blades for scheppach hms2600ci

Hi perhaps I used the wrong descriptor, the blades I got are too deep, not wide, sorry, they are about 25mm deep, the ones currently in my machine are approx 17mm deep and no slotted back. Just had a quick look at the cutting solutions website and could not see any blades my size in the...

best place to buy blades for scheppach hms2600ci

can anyone here help? I was given a scary price of nearly £200 for a set of TCT blades from NMA ( I think..) for the German ones, I brought some TCT from axminster, to fit most 260mm wide machines, but guess what, they are too wide for my machine. They were however only £45. Now I have to send...

( Photos now shown ) IBC Matched Blade & Chipbreaker Set

I imagine that they would be very good, as they are very thick - I was going to buy one at the woodworking show and handled it, its a lovely piece of metal for sure! However, its almost certain that you will have to widen the throat on the planes by filing, ( I am sure you knew that already...

Eucalyptus logs - Any good? How to prepare?

I have salvaged 2 logs of Eucalyptus from the garden of a job we are on, was told by the Australian owner that it makes good lumber. Firstly, does it and would it be worth the trouble of preparing the logs? I will only get small planks from them, enough for boxwork etc. Secondly, I am...
