    Sliding door....made in wood?

Hi, we just got awarded a pretty nice job, extension and refurb, part of which involves a sliding door. They wanted it made of timber, but it will be pretty big - one fixed panel approx 2.0 m and one sliding panels approx 2.0m. ( Total of approx 4m opening) I was dubious about doing it in wood...

    Magnets for tool storage

Yes, I could, but each plane is different ( which means the cabinet wont have continuity of design - not a massive issue but something to consider..) and I don't have a lot of space at the bottom of the cubby holes, so am limited slightly in the design & thickness of the heel plates. I spent a...

Walnut Plane storage cabinet wall mounted

OK, another installment.......... I managed to make sure it all fitted and got it glued up and then mounted on the wall. I don't have pictures of the back, as I hung on the wall before I took them, and I am using it wall mounted to do the rest of the build, so will post the pictures of the back...

    Magnets for tool storage

Hi, I am pondering the best way to hold my planes in their sloped cubby holes for the cabinet I am making. They each sit on a 6mm MDF platform, that is lined upside with 2-3mm cork sheet. I brought some 15mm rare earth magnets from Axminster, but they don't work through the wood. Are there any...

    An electrics question....

If its useful to anyone, they have relaxed the regs to make it so that as long as the work is done by a "competent person" then you or someone else can do notifiable work and get it checked and certified by another electrician. previously the person doing the work had to certify........

Felder CF741 universal machine sliding table mods

Well, you could use for either, what is important is that whatever you are ripping is securely held without being able to move, exactly parallel to the sliding table, meaning you don't have to use the machines rip fence, ( I do use this as a bump stop though sometimes then wind it back slightly...

Hi, I think I am pretty internet and forum savvy, but am having real trouble with this one. having just become the proud owner of a new CF741 pro machine, I was advised to join the group. Have done so, but when I log in, all I get is a stream of individual replies to various posts in...

    The future of planes?

I think it's pretty cool...but somewhat overpriced for a mass ( well, maybe not mass, but certainly not bespoke..) market tool from a company that is aiming to sell a lot....as people have noted, its up there in Holtey territory , price wise. And I know what I would prefer if I was dropping over...
