I have the same problem with my Titan mitre saw which is a beast on startup and have just ordered a soft start module to retrofit arriving tomorrow.

Acetone works well on epoxy. Cover with paper towel layers and soak with acetone. Try and cover to reduce evaporation and epoxy will peel away after suitable soaking. Obviously, well ventilated or outdoors if possible!

I did the same thing last year. Moved the extractor outside and rewired the switch to bypass NVR and extended cable indoors. It plugs into a remote control adaptor so if mains fails it defaults to off via the remote so no issue there. A lot quieter and healthier inside the shop now.
