No chance of that, I may run low on "dry" wood for bowls/goblets etc but I have more green wood from this year alone than I can get through and next month I have a large-ish Oak coming down with a lot of burr/burl on the trunk, trouble is I have nowhere to store it at the minute πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ next...

Does seem that way πŸ˜… We currently have 4 staff leaving, 1 is retiring, 1 has decided not to renew their contract, the PE teacher was asked to go part time but has only just had a baby so can't afford to be part time and the 4th is moving to one of our other schools.

Wow those are gorgeous, have to admit, thread chasing is something that baffles me πŸ€ͺπŸ₯΄ Another leaving gift for a colleague, made from Oak and Holly, finished with Danish Oil and turned with only 2 tools, my almost worn out bowl gouge and a micro skew that was part of my gift from secret santa 2022

Change of career - what too.

Sorry you're having a carp time of it mate, would you consider school caretaker/site manager? Aside from the issues I'm having with those above me it's a good job, enough routine stuff to keep busy and enough ad-hoc extras to keep it interesting. Primary schools usually only have 1 body to...

Decided to make a baby rattle from some oak today, no reason for it, just felt like the challenge of small captive rings, also decided to make the challenge harder by doing a square, round and triangular ring. No finish on this yet, will use some mineral oil when I get some.

It has a red tint to it that doesn't show in the video, it's pretty hard too.

To be honest I know I should have charged more, probably double but other than time it only cost me a few Β£ for the hardware, I'm not disappointed with what she is paying me.

Hehe, I'm afraid she seems to love the photos I have sent her and has agreed to the price (possibly a little too enthusiastically) so just waiting for her to come get it πŸ˜„

    Monkey Puzzle tree

It's a beautiful wood to turn, the heart will need hardening with CA or drilling out and replacing with a small plug. Definitely look best as an endgrain turning.

Here's the finished desk tidy, did not enjoy making it and as nice as it came out I don't want to make another, hopefully the lady that asked me to make it is happy with the price and likes it.
