Maybe different chemical make ups, the ronseal dries enough to allow nice smooth cuts as if it had cured like resin but as soon as you start sanding it seems to soften like heating up a plastic. I should wear a mask more often but I'm a moron and hate wearing it because it fogs up and stops me...

Be very cautious using wood hardener, I've used the ronseal wood hardener in the past, even after leaving it for a week it gets very gummy and clogs up the sanding mesh and what did come up into the air as dust made me feel sick for a few days, it also didn't actually penetrate very far...

My scrollsaw has a rotary drill attachment for drilling the internal holes

2 lemons cut in half and some toothpaste make excellent washing machine cleaners, chuck them in on a long cycle and they will clean and deodorize

Mud pit is finished apart from 1 more screw in the end of a deck board, battery ran out again, seem to manage about 20 holes through the timber into the blockwork. Hoping to get the sand pit finished this week ready for sand to arrive Monday.

I just used my 50mm jaws and a live centre, look at Mike Peace Woodturning on YouTube, he shows how to do it a couple of days ago. The wood database is probably the best online resource for info about woods. Walnut is a stunning wood, I've only turned a few pieces and they were gorgeous.

Over the weekend I watched a YouTube video of a multi offcentre chrimbo tree so thought I'd have a go, fairly happy with the results, one isn't sanded at all and the other just a quick pass with some 240g

At 4 and 5 years old I don't think the users have the capacity to appreciate much beyond wow factor and fun factor 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪, plenty of parents commented positively on Saturday while their kids played football though 😊
