    Spraying Paint

Nope, I saw another thread about that, so I'm aware that it's a dangerous thing to have around painting/finishing. I guess that my original post didn't say that I used a primer, I did. I did not denib (or anything else) the primed finish though, in line with comments/advice I've seen...

    Spraying Paint

Ok, got it. I have been trying to cut corners to overcome the additional effort required with spraying. Looks like those corners are necessary and I just need to suck it up. I have a viscosity cup, but I didn't realise they come in different sizes(?). I'm guessing the only way to be sure...

    Spraying Paint

thanks AES, some useful information in there. To answer some of the things you've raised (edited the OP to reflect also)... I've been eyeballing it in the cup, which felt relatively successful. I guess maybe I need some more experience before I can do that so I'll go back to my viscosity...

    Spraying Paint

I've been stuck on the painting phase of my pantry build for a few weeks now and think it's time to ask some experts. For context, I'm currently spraying flat (no detail/moulding) MRMDF drawer fronts/doors. Problems that I'm encountering After spraying I have occasionally found long streaks...

Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro dog hole enlargement

Thanks Mike, ordered, so we’ll see how it works out

Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro dog hole enlargement

Rob, how did you manage to complete all 10 holes with this reamer? I didn't have any issues with the shaft, but it overheats within seconds and is desperately trying to kill my driver. Very easy to get it stuck in there (presumably a combination of just friction, and it overheating expands the...

Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro dog hole enlargement

cool, I do want an mft table, but space dictates that it must wait for a new workshop. I guess that answers my own question then really. 20mm it is 💪🏼

Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro dog hole enlargement

Wow, you are perfect 😍 So after some mild modification, the reamer works. That sounds like my best bet if I go that route. Now, can you tell me a little about your experiences since using the bigger dogs? Happy with your choice? Did you use the workbench with the smaller dogs for long before...

Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro dog hole enlargement

Thank you all for the info. I should have realised that 18mm is just 3/4 inch. My instinct is that there are probably more accessories designed for MFT sized dogs, can anybody confirm?

Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro dog hole enlargement

I have a Sjobergs Smart Workstation Pro, which I bought to use for dovetailing and other hand tool work as I don't yet have room for a "proper" woodworkers workbench. The Axminster page doesn't list a dog hole size, just the size of the holes in the feet, and I have subsequently discovered that...

    Floating shelf unit

As part of my pantry build we added a nice big radiator to our kitchen. This minor change to the kitchen meant moving a folding table out of the way, removing the convenient surface. I had a small slab of live edge oak that I had intended to make a console table from and we agreed that this...

    Mill vs Drill Press

Fair question. I rarely (virtually never) have a requirement for a floor standing drill atm, but I have ambitions to do so. I also don't have room for a floor standing drill (although aim to have room next year). I figure a mini mill might solve the "my drill stalls if I look at it hard...

    Show us yer .... Bird-feeders

I made this lil beauty a few months ago. It's held up well but so far has only been visited by a magpie and a pigeon that sit on the roof :(. There's not much cover around it, so I may have to wait for the tree to mature before I see any activity on it.

    Mill vs Drill Press

My drill press is baaaaddddddd and desperately needs to go live on a farm (and by live, I mean die, in a landfill). So I've been keeping an eye out for a bargain replacement. I will want to buy a floor standing drill press at some point, but I've seen mini mills for sale and it occurs to me...

Chisel gets dull whilst working up through the grits

Yeah, the half DTs are probably a bit thin and therefore vulnerable. I struggled a little with my laying out (I have a gauge), but that'll come with practice. I *can* suffer through the oak end grain, I *can't* reliably make everything the perfect size... yet. Yes the oak is a bit chunky for...

Chisel gets dull whilst working up through the grits

Sweet Jesus, what happened to my thread? I read the first couple of pages and took away the advice there and applied as much as I was able over the weekend. I chucked out the micro-bevel. I dug out my guide and found that improved things on the >600 grits. I also found that just pulling...

Chisel gets dull whilst working up through the grits

I have already tried the latter. Tbh I have always looked at the leather strops as being a bit unnecessary, like.. who needs it THAT sharp? I should get one and find out for myself though I suppose.
