    Scotch Brite Grey

There is a UK division of 3M. The information on each of their products has a Where To Buy button. You can buy or order from the ones nearest or offering the best prices. I never use Scotch-Brite to sand bare wood. It follows the surface and removes more of the softer material in the growth...

Rail/stile router bits + panel size

I'll fess up. I don't have or use any rail and stile bits primarily because I have preferred a Shaker style door with eased edges all made using the table saw. I knew of the type of bit you needed so posted and saw the speed limitation on the Freud page for the bits I linked. Bigger bits should...

    Dovetail jig opinions

The Gifkins jig is supposed to be one of the easiest to use. Gifkins Dovetail-Australian made dovetail jigs - Gifkins Dovetail Unfortunately they are more than you can spend. I'm pretty sure I have seen imitators that work on the same principle for less. Pete

Rail/stile router bits + panel size

I think you should be looking for an adjustable set. They allow for different panel thicknesses. Example below. https://www.freudtools.com/products/99-760 Pete Note these are big bits and have speed limitations so you will need to have a router with a speed control dial to slow the router down.

    Buffing Machine Mops (Wheel)

Caswell is a possible source for compounds and wheels. The Canadian site has information on it. I suspect the UK site might but couldn't find it quickly. Similar companies might also have the same kind of information. Pete

    Sinking mortises in moulding planes

Not traditional but you can make it with 4 pieces and glue it together. Use a table saw or mitre saw to cut the front and back to get the right bed angle and mouth. Glue the cheeks on. The wedge can bear on notches in the cheeks or a cross pin. Pete

Bending ali bandsaw frame back to normal

I would measure the amount of "twist". Then I would clamp it with shims to over correct at least 100%. Then release and see if the over bending helped and by how much. Now you know how much to over bend the frame and can do it once more with more shims, hopefully getting the frame right and...

    Grammar Post

On people getting mad when corrected. As children we were corrected as we learned. Then we went to school and received more corrections up to the point when we graduated. I think by then people were tired of being corrected and for some when corrected now it now it digs into the core of their...

    Powered Respirators

Miele vacuum cleaners can have a HEPA final stage filter (after the bag) put into them. Hey are roughly 90 x 180. A piece of the bag cut to fit would make a decent pre filter. One downside is the are not cheap. Don’t know how they compare cost-wise to other filters. An option to ponder. Pete

Spooky isn't it? We are for the more part old and very set in our ways. It is logical to assume we are going to repeat ourselves regularly. It is logical to assume we are going to repeat ourselves regularly. It is logical to assume we are going to repeat ourselves regularly. Re-Pete 😉

What are these ‘curved washers’ called?

Searching for "saddle washers" will get you round ones and adding square to it will get you a few. Pete Unless I am missing something a round one would work the same.

    Chopping boards

If you make a change in the row or column boxes the size changes under the preview heading. Length and width or near/far and side to side if you prefer. 😉 It doesn't seem to let you pick a size and work backwards to the dimensions of the little pieces that make up the board so there are some...

    Two bowls from one blank?

You should look into the McNaughton Centre Saver system. It has a straight chisel and progressively more curved chisels to cut everything from cones to half spherical shapes. It would allow you to part off the back of a bowl to get a piece suitable for a picture frame or what ever. You could...

How do you exchange the heat stored in a Sand Battery into a water heating system.

The heat losses of a sand battery in the driveway would be nice for keeping the snow melted. ❄️ 😊 ❄️ Never mind if you don't know what snow is. :dunno: Pete
