    Mask Hygiene

If those are activated carbon filters for organic solvents they have a life of anywhere from 8 hours to 40 hours maximum. At the end of the session remove the cartridges and put them in a sealed container or Ziplock as they continue to absorb when sitting in the open, reducing the cartridge...

Dealing with rats in subfloor void

There are no states in Canada. Provinces and Territories only. America has the states. 😉 Our biggest rats infest the government. 🤣🤬 Pete

Festool table saw TKS 80 EBS 230v

Probably as much to do with compliance to your various guarding and electrical regulations and the price is in the neighbourhood of £4,000 plus whatever taxes would be added making it a hard sell. The parent company of Festool bought SawStop so the brakes going into Festool offerings are the...

    Joke Thread III

Cozzer I got roped into going to the movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar. I don't like musicals. When Jesus came on screen my Catholic raised buddy stood up and yelled out. "I know how it ends. He's gonna die!" Pete

Festool table saw TKS 80 EBS 230v

Those saws are not on this side of the pond but most saws can cut hardwood when a rip blade is put in it rather than using the combination blades people tend to use. Any way one of the dealers of the saw will demo the cutting abilities if you brought a board or two to put through it? Pete

Dealing with rats in subfloor void

Too cold where you are for boa constrictors and pythons but you should be able to round up somebody with a ferret or a weasel. it will have a great time and the rats will split. Pete

Curvy airplanes you like? The Lockheed Constellation falls into that category. It has all those bad little propeller blades to make. ;) Pete

    Using resin in wood turning

I have only turned pens that have cast resins. You used polyester resin with the MEKP harder. While easy but stinky to use it has the biggest disadvantage of having a 7% shrinkage ratio. That means there is the possibility it can let go of the wood. My wife did clear cast pens with Japanese...

Quick 4" hose dust connection - similar to US QuickLox

There are people that have made Magports of their own by adding a plastic or wood flange to a short length of plastic pipe and adding rare earth magnets to the flange. Printed versions made with a 3D printer are out there too for free downloading. Thingiverse would be a place to start otherwise...

Cutting Aluminium sheet with track saw

I wouldn't cut outside if you can avoid it, or you cover the ground with a big tarp. The reason being is the aluminium doesn't corrode away, meaning you have it there to walk through and see sparkling along the edges of the grass forever. Iron based stuff rusts away so at worst stains the...

You’ve done it again. Great airplane. One used to come every year to the Abbotsford Airshow until they were removed from service. Loved watching them put on their show. Beautiful! Pete

    Small HVLP extractors (Axminster AW37E / Charnwood W685 / Clarke CDE35B / Rexon DE-1000A)

I've posted this picture in here before but it bares repeating. What you are looking at is a 7" wide planer cutting about 2mm from an oak pew without a dust collector on it. The heavier and bigger chips flying out just above the board. Knives were sharp. The setting sun coming through the...

Which type of bearing to use?

A specific search for plans led to a couple more and that doesn't include all the YouTube ones. http://www.rocky-roost-woodturnings.com/wood-turning-blog/home-made-articulating.html https://www.homemadetools.net/homemade-articulating-arm-hollower Pete

Which type of bearing to use?

There are versions of those kind of hollowers made from aluminium although I think they are using stronger alloys like 6061-T6 as a minimum. Steel is still much better and usually cheaper. You can get hollowers in the UK. Searches will reveal more...

Which type of bearing to use?

The plastic bushings don't need lubrication. That is what the "self lubricating." part of the sentence implied. You haven't said if the arm will be working in a horizontal plane? Vertical? Or something in between? Nor have you said how long it is or how much it will be holding up. All of which...

What kind of planer, sorry, thicknesser is that by the jointer/planer 🙄? Now the fun begins manhandling that top to work on. 😉 Pete
