    Threaded pipe

The pipe was used here a lot in water systems in the past but gave way to copper and in the last few decades plastic. It is used extensively for natural gas piping too but some portions are being replaced with flexible stainless stuff. It is stocked pre-threaded in the various Borg stores and...

Drill press for cutting 16mm holes

You might want to read through Ttrees thread about boring holes. He went through a lot to stiffen up a drill press. You won't be working it as hard but might have to deal with repositioning if the bits and reamers you need are not all the same length...

Drill press for cutting 16mm holes

If you have a solid drill press (not a dinky thing one person can pick up) and drill in a few steps without moving the part until about 0.3mm under the bearing size and then use a reamer with lubricant you might get a decent hole to press the bearing into. You should also be using a micrometer...

If you can still edit the post remove the phone number. If you can't then use the report button and ask a moderator to do it for you. Don't put email addresses down either. Leaves you open for bots to harvest your address and you'll get spam up the wazoo. Pete Very generous of you to offer the...

    Which paper towel?

I have a box of ripped up bedsheets, T-shirts, tea towels, cotton socks, etc, anything that isn't full of synthetics. They do all of my excess glue wiping, spill soaking, and finish application duties. The only time I don't use them is for CA finishing pens. For that kitchen paper towels work...

    Old ELU DAH176 planer knives

Digging up this old thread because I found blades that are either the same or very close. They are called CentroLock Planer blades. They show the width as 16mm and the thickness as 3mm. They don't give the groove dimensions but is sure looks close when scaled up...

There is an overdue payment under your name. Please, settle your debts ASAP, aye right.......

If they know that much about my passwords and financial institutions etc then they don't need me to send them money. They could just take it all themselves. Oh wait! there is nothing to take. 😭 Pete

Table Saw kickback and trimmed finger (Graphic description & images)

There is one Youboob video where someone was using those kind of push blocks while video taping for his channel. It was a piece of plywood, no riving knife, that climbed on top of the blade and spun the plywood off to the left and back. The guy's right hand was carried along with the push block...

    Big Chisel!

Fitzroy got it. It's a slick, especially if the bottom has a slight curve across the blade (side to side) and the handle is kicked up a little to allow it to kay flat on the board. Use by timber framers and boat builders. Nice score. Pete

Workshop burgled, now my tools are on eBay

I feel for AndrewG and would advise him that the same thieves may be back in a month or two to get the new tools the insurance company has paid for. Bolster the shop "defences", locks, barred windows, etc. Pete

    ***** builders

Won't patching it now and dealing with it in a few years turn it into a bigger mouldy toxic mess? Aren't you are by tiling over it becoming a silly person builder too? Pete

How do I do this? Help!

You might try swing clear hinges. It brings the door further out and when open it sits just past the door frame allowing more clearance through the opening. At most you might only have to bevel the door a little bit...
