    Record power bench mounted bandsaw.

Thanks , clogs. From what everyone has said, it looks like my machine runs too fast, although i’d never be cutting mild steel bars or 8mm plate. I’m basically a woodturner, and sometimes use brass inlay on bowls. This comes from thin rods, brass wire, or 1mm brass sheets.. I have always used...

    Record power bench mounted bandsaw.

Cheers, MikeK Would that apply to a non-ferrous metal such as thin brass sheets using M42 blades.? D

    Record power bench mounted bandsaw.

Thanks, John. I have a floor standing bandsaw which is my go to machine for wood cutting, and, for the reasons you say, I would not dream of using it to cut metal. I thought about using the Record for that purpose because it would avoid having to use a hacksaw on sheet material (mainly brass)...

    Record power bench mounted bandsaw.

Cheers, guys. 1435 mm from two sources is likely to be right. The only difference between my machine and the machine in Jamie’s advert lies in the machine speeds. Mine has two speeds ; 440m/min (1443ft/min) and 110m/min (360ft/min). D

    Record power bench mounted bandsaw.

I have a small, bench mounted bandsaw (Record Power BK 3 mk II ) that I have had for donkey’s years. Although it was originally intended for woodcutting, I’d like to put a metal cutting blade on it for the odd occasion I need to cut metal. Trouble is, I can’t remember the blade size, and it’s...

    Cutting circles on a bandsaw?

Have a look at Woodturning sites. Lots of woodturners use a jig to cut their bowl blanks on bandsaws. There are all sorts of designs out there.

    Bandsaw problem

I have had an Elektra Beckum 315 bandsaw for about 15 years. It has served me well as an amateur woodworker. Lately the head section contains the blade guides and thrust wheel have start to seem a bit loose. I can’t see how it is fitted to the slide or how to tighten it up. Anyone got any...

    Lathe sale

Hi ajcr I have turned one bowl on my new Stratos. So far I am very impressed. It’s a solid, very heavy, machine, well engineered, and quiet in use. There is a good range of speeds available, and moving belts on the speed pulley configurations is very easy. There is the added bonus that belts...

Sold Bandsaw, Planer Thicknesser, Robert Sorby ProEdge

Alnwick is a really nice place, and Northumberland is a great county. The only drawback is the weather in the winter. If you are outside any of the major towns or cities, you will definitely need a 4x4. In addition if you lived in Alnwick (Alnwick castle is the seat of the Duke of...
