How do they get trade if not in the trade?!

Anyone fix IKEA kitchens? My bil just fitted one and it was really easy, but many kitchen fitters won't touch them he as told due to shallow service voids at back etc.

I would up the budget and get a lumberjack saw...

Nice. Looks clean enough! Sharpen blade if required and use. Blade can be adjusted with a pin hammer on the blade and wedge.

Possibly but I expect the big players will change the rules through lobbying government so that they are pushed back to limit financial damage....

Dpm is a heavy plastic membrane. But a vapour barrier can be much lighter plastic or the foil of pir, or possibly the glue of osb / plywood (I'd paint it on the outside face)

It's an ML8 great machine... One of the classic lathes imo. Get this book...

Agreed without a dpm and vapour barrier (even osb or celotex will do) you won't get the moisture down tbh.

Nor is a bandsaw! A handsaw it is then! I have found a table saw a much more reliable machine for cutting timber straight than a bandsaw which needs to be a 14"+ model ime.
