Insulating single brick, flat roof garage

I'd use polystyrene better at insulating and doesn't soak up water...

    New company, new career

Looks lovely! What cladding are you going? Cedar? Larch? How are you anchoring you posts to the brickwork?

    Making interlocking table base

How about using some piano hinges to joint the pieces to each other? Fold the hinged wings out and pop the top on.

Insulating single brick, flat roof garage

Imho you want insulation and heating for a decent working environment. A £20 /40 fan heater/ oil rad + 2" celotex will be fine tbh.

Car insurance, utility companies, phone + broadband all make a killing unless you regularly switch..

Garden shed - ventilation for foil based cold roof

How about 40 insulation pie or polyurethane and then hardboard plywood screwed up. That way you don't have any gaps. It looks better and it's not much more than the cost of tape. Just a thought.

    Shelving spanning a 3m gap

Or you could make it 1000mm deep using 18mm ply and a 200mm back wall to stop anything falling off the back? 4x2 under the front edge. 4x2 into wall to rest it on.

Osb plates Either side if the beams will make little difference tbh.

    3m flat roof span with 44 × 95 joists

What about 1x 4 timber glued and screwed to the top and bottom of the 4x2 that way you have a I beam but only loose 1" headroom and 1" height? Just a thought.

    3m flat roof span with 44 × 95 joists

How about screw and gluing 2x2 on top of the 4x2?

    3m flat roof span with 44 × 95 joists

Much better off with 6" joists. It won't affect your headroom at all as they are on top of your walls. I hardly think planning are going to worry about 2" tbh.
