What is the name and optimal screw placement for this common workbench leg setup?

I would joint the leg angle pieces together with 3 screws one at top and bottom, other in middle then put two through the leg tops into the rails each side. 7 screws and glue in total.

How far gone is too far gone for old wood lathes?

What could possibly go wrong! Invest in some penetrating fluid. Plus gas or similar.

    Platter error

I think you would need to remove the wax using white spirit heating the bowl gently in airing cupboard first then rubbing the white spirit into the pores before washing off with soapy water.

    Timber framing.

I've always fancied timber framing.... Does anyone do it as a job? Does it work as a solo worker doing smaller porches / carports etc. Are there good courses to do? Just blue sky thinking,....

Opinions? Lumberjack 1/4" Electric Plunge Router Variable Speed 240V with Parallel Fence

Bit of a no mans land router I had a similar one as my first router. Bulky to handle but not that powerful. The smaller trimmers from katusi or excel are cheaper and easier to use.

    Converting a new shed to a workshop….by a newbie

Go for 55mm then with a 5mm gap. The t+g will keep most weather out anyway.

    Converting a new shed to a workshop….by a newbie

    1. Do i put a waterproof membrane down between the concrete base and the shed? I would as water will gather. 2. Do i need to put in a vapour barrier and if so on what side - against the shed wood with the insulation on top of it, or on top of the insulation then board over it…or neither I...

    Need to escape/reset

Hope your feeling better Stig, I know and feel your pain personally, Acting now and getting help is way more preferable than putting your head in a pile of shavings and thinking it will go away. It won't and it has the potential to come back and bite you and you could end up loosing everything...
