Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

I wouldn't bother, just get a 12/24/48v one and charge batteries which will power stuff via an inverter.

Buying cheapest wood for woodwork practice in the UK

I buy 5x1 sawn timber for a cladding company at £1/m. It's very dense and clear of many knots. A scrub plane and no 5 soon make it smooth. Also floor boards new and old are good source. Used ones will give your furniture patina as Drew would say! I've even used the grove as a rebate for...

    Removing some of truss Webbing

A better way might be putting in some heavy purlins in say 10x3 and doubling up the rafters. Older early 20c terraced houses were built like that. But obvs take professional advice.

    Help: converting 230V (1ph) 50Hz machines to run on 220V (1ph) 60Hz supply

That would work not even a lithium battery just a decent Leisure battery with a 3kw inverter would be fine for intermittent use. Charge it up using a local battery charger. Not efficient but would work.

How do I best build a foundation for a new shed on an existing too large concrete pad?

Cheapest option lay treated 3x3 fence posts on the slap with dpm membrane under and across the floor with 2" concrete or insulation and boards on top. Build shed off the fence posts making sure the cladding goes well down the fence post. Apply bitumen paint under.
