    I think you be fine in doing it as you suggest. I would put one between each joist. So on 400/600 centres.

    Just an idea for those short if space how about having an over lay made up of 2x18mm plywood or 2" pine covering the front 12" of the mft and a 6" apron secured with a couple of dogs so that you can use hand tools.

    4.8m x 5m would be ideal so you use standard 4.8m timber lengths.

    If you build a cheap metal shed you'll end up with condensation. Much better a wooden shed / summerhouse/ log cabin.

    You need to remove the varnished finish one side and possibly the stress reliving grooves the other side. I'd use epoxy for a really strong joint.

    A 12v pressure washer should do it cyclo-cross competitors use them to clean their bikes. Just get the right nozzle so you don't remove the Mrs makeup!

    Needs more details - what's the roof design? The window is it several panes or a single big one?

    Also don't woodwork esp with power tools when tired or angry..... At best you make mistakes at worst you loose fingers...

    As you say, it works but crudely. Ideal for outside joinery or first fix, but not great for 2 fix or cabinet making? It's just an update on the big shed saws tbh.
