Agreed. I was surprised by this, KS is currently disliked by even more people than Tony Blair! https://yougov.co.uk/ratings/politics/popularity/labour-politicians/all

Can I put this here? Posted together these two unrelated facts amuse me! Yeah, I know, strange sense of humour.

Cloned Number Plates...just a word of warning!

Perhaps you could elaborate. It might help others on here? Don’t worry if it’s too much of a bother.

Potential sites for new mega-solar farms

Before my local farm stopped dairy farming you could see cows out in one of the fields for many months during the year so I did a Google. https://www.agriland.co.uk/farming-news/grazing-season-2022-knowing-when-to-call-it-a-day/

    Solid Surfacing

By default, both are solid surfaces and both are made from a mixture of natural materials bonded with resin. So yes, both are artificial stone products. Corian is just as bad apparently. I think we can expect a ban in some places in due course. If you’re happy to breathe in the dust though...

    What on earth?!

Did Two Tier Kier say to Mark Rowley at the COBRA meeting to make him loose his temper like this?! We can only suspect he tore him a pretty large new one. 🤣

    Solid Surfacing

I was recently sent this link to the Daily Fail. I normally take anything this rag reports with a substantial pinch of salt but this may be of interest to anyone that works with the material. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-13715027/quartz-worktops-lung-disease-risk-ban.html

    sand blasting

My Clarke cabinet had a strange suction pipe. It was a metal tube crimped inside a larger tube that didn’t seem to serve any purpose. The hole was only connected to the inner tube that was about 50mm longer. I read some time ago that the suction tube needs an air bleed to work well. What I did...

Sub £1000 bench drill for wood, steel and aluminium in a tiny workshop?

If you can find one the Fobco Star is a wonderful little drill. https://www.lathes.co.uk/fobco/

    Medieval crossbow replica

I visited a bow maker many years ago and he simply strung the bow, supported it from above and hung body building weights from the string using a steel hook. This was not only for checking the draw weight but also the tiller of the limbs. I’ve seen the same method used for modern target...

    Nothing new then?

I just saw this on Quora. Assuming it’s correct it looks like having scant regard for your own people goes back a long way for our politicians. I wonder what my parents would have thought?

    Impact Driver

The one I’ve got starts really slow if you need it but goes full tilt with a full press of the trigger. Hard to beat for under £100 with a charger, 2 batteries and a decent case. I would have got a Makita to use existing batteries but a bare unit was just over £80.

    sand blasting

I’m not suggesting that this will suit everyone, but the manual for the small MM cabinet says you need a minimum of 10 CFM of free air flow. I’ve been using a compressor with 3.5 CFM on mine for blasting fairly small items and it works fine. The MM unit is not the best designed cabinet I’ve...
