    cyclone dust

    I used the cylinder from a clapped out dyson to make my cyclone from, the plastic is much thicker and stronger and although not cone shaped it works perfectly.

    I'm rather confused :? Alex has been advised against using a gas heater where sawdust/dust is concerned (no doubt due to a naked flame). Yet on another thread (see Briquette making) the OP is asking about making and using briquettes to heat his workshop, obviously this has to be on a stove...

    You certainly have my sympathy concerning your back Col. :( I should imagine that a 12" x 5' log would be a fair old weight, which makes me wonder how on earth are you going to lift it up onto the bench. Groundhog Day :?: :P

    I have explained in previous posts that I'm not a woodworker and also know absolutely nothing about chainsaws so feel free to shoot me down if my questions are stupid. Does the 'chain' stick out further than the 'blade' on a chainsaw as they do on a tablesaw blade ? If so, wouldn't this mean...

    I made one of these for my g/granddaughter, simple to do with a couple of bits of square/ round wood and dowels, all super glued in place.

    Made this for our g/grandchildren, as I have only a dewalt tablesaw it took a lot of filing to make the woodpecker shape. The body is motionless but the head moves.
