Is this getting a bit out of hand? - RSV jabs

One basic problem of cost is that the value of outcomes does not appear on any balance sheets. Hence the NHS is simultaneously run at an enormous financial loss/cost but with a huge profit in terms of quality of life.

Jack Plane Camber - How much?

Or you produce a camber just by biasing the pressure from one side to the other freehand on oil stones, in the old fashioned way. If you have a hollowed stone it does it automatically! I don't really hold with all that careful working to a prescribed line, and I avoid the grindstone altogether...

Antivax nutters are also are obsessed by Bill Gates. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-52833706 It's easy enough to check facts nowadays with google et al. but people seem drawn to conspiracy theories and false science. Antiscience has been around since the enlightenment and is a subject in...

But he is another fraudulent antivax nutter. There's a lot of them about. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/03/technology/robert-malone-covid.html https://www.factcheck.org/2023/11/scicheck-posts-spread-false-claim-about-moderna-patent-application/

    No Fault Evictions

Good riddance! It's a good job they can't take much of their wealth with them - land, property, UK businesses etc.

    No Fault Evictions

Loudly shouting rubbish about "Soviet funded corrupt left wing union bosses who were effectively holding the country to ransom" doesn't make it true.

    No Fault Evictions

What, will they demolish their housing stock or leave it empty? I doubt it. State sector is where it should be. The private sector has failed miserably to provide homes. Unlike the unwelcome consequences of tory policies often glaringly obvious from the start, such as brexit, or underfunding...

Take advice from the medical establishment on matters of illness, life and death, or from some geezer on a woodwork chat group? Maybe @NickDReed could pick his way through this and point out the mistakes...

To get back on topic, good news! Could this be the start of housing being dragged back from the free market jungle? https://www.theguardian.com/money/article/2024/sep/06/labour-moves-to-end-no-fault-evictions-within-months

New road tax charging rules wont just affect EV OR just new vehicles, its retrospectively changes your tax band

What, you'd take a short prison sentence rather than pay raised VED? Depends on how much you value your time. What would be your rate for 24 hours in the nick?

New road tax charging rules wont just affect EV OR just new vehicles, its retrospectively changes your tax band

It was Jeremy Hunt desperately trying to raise taxes without anybody noticing. Starmer/Reeves now trying the same thing. At least they can blame the tories, in fact they do it continuously; hearing "£20billion black hole" even more often than "my father was a tool maker". 🤣 To misquote Marx...

Yep But can't say I agree about either of these particular "gurus".

Reads like confused antivax pseudo science. I don't believe you have any important insights into these things. Antivax, along with climate change scepticism and a number of other issues, are a particular phenomenon - a syndrome. There's probably a name for it!

I'd guess because he is mildly infected with antivax propaganda.

Just trying to encourage people to find out for themselves instead of relying on their prejudices or the Daily Mail. You should try it yourself! Also it's tedious having to dig out facts for people who can't be bothered to do it for themselves.

I'm 79 and probably the last generation to see the effects of polio in people my age when I was a school kid back in the 50s. Virtually unknown now thanks to vaccines. If people came on here promoting dangerous woodwork practices they'd soon get sorted out, but anti-vaxxers promote ideas which...

Jack Plane Camber - How much?

ECE scrub has a camber of 25mm radius and is very effective on what it's designed for; scrubbing off rough surface especially on reclaimed or painted old timber. I've never checked the camber on other planes. They all vary somewhat. If it won't do for one job it'll do for another. I guess...

I thought that too. Music/woodwork you have to be able to make/play simple things well before you try more difficult things. If you push too hard you may end up playing/making difficult things, but not done well.
