They said the same sort of thing about slavery. Still helpful to have some basic rules so they know what the others are having to do. It's pretty much what the Labour movement has always been about from very beginning. And before that through history - "The Charter of the Forest" was the...

Exactly. If they don't want to treat their staff well they should **** off.

Yes that's it. It suddenly struck me - it's what the unwoke seem to have in common, they all share the same opinions and fear seems to be the common factor. It's a frightening world! You'd do well to watch this series, or read the book; https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b082x0h6 I'm sure you...

Corbyn had nothing to hide, but yes he wasn't quick on his feet. Worst ever was when he was being screwed by Andrew Neil with a really aggressive attack over antisemitism in the party, before everybody had twigged it was all lies. Starmer is still lying about it! Poor old Jezza just couldn't...

Poor old Keith, lying in his teeth! He's not very good at it! Hasn't even been accused of anything but it makes you wonder what he is actually covering up, instead of the opposite. Hilarious!

    Another Unknown Sheffield Saw Company...

I just googled "daedalus & co saws" or similar. Just takes a couple of stabs! I quoted somebody else who might have been wrong anyway, but it sounded credible. Lots of different brands would be using blades from the same makers, also brand names get taken up and used by other firms, so it can be...

I'm not playing it down. It was appalling. It appalled other immigrants too. And the police were also very much at fault, amongst others turning a blind eye. "the Casey report concluded that the council had a bullying, sexist culture of covering up information and silencing whistleblowers; it...

"Fifty-eight police officers, three police dogs and a police horse were injured in Rotherham as rioters broke into the hotel, which was housing 240 asylum seekers, and tried to set fire to it. 22 Aug 2024" Yes we know what happened there - very rare events and unfortunately immigrants are also...

Fear of immigrants often seems higher in places where there are low numbers. Inner cities tend to be tolerant of their variegated neighbours. Clacton looks like a perfect example; a run down town with poverty and high unemployment. Fartrage's 8th attempt to get a seat. The only place which would...

Another irrational fear! It hasn't happened anywhere. A higher ratio of immigrants in inner cities of course, where there is work and community. Not many boat people set their sights on getting set up in rural areas amongst the farmers and wealthy land owners. Buy a camel and join the local...

They don't like it either, which is why they want to come here, surely this is glaringly obvious? Good luck to them. Petty bureaucracy and a few racist riots must seem like nothing at all compared to what many of them have had to put up with. It does seem that simple fear is behind racism and...

Why are you so frightened of immigrants?
  13. Jacob

    Keir Starmer

Yes but you said they were desperate for them. This would be for very good reasons - just being able to text back home etc.

It was explained to me by someone working with immigrants, that mobile phones become near essential survival machines in very many ways. Obvious when you think about it and old ones are cheap and adequate. Had a weird experience 2016 we were cycling sea to sea St Bees head to Tynemouth, partly...

It's not that simple either way but the point is; one more immigrant in a job does not mean one more native on the dole. In fact world wide and historically, wherever immigrants go economies boom. They choose to go to where there is work, and work done generates more wealth/work.

121000 vacancies in NHS alone. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1369216/uk-worker-shortages-by-sector/ But in any case a new worker is also a new consumer and generates work in turn. Basic economics - immigration increases GDP, although it is not a simple issue.

not because they are poor but because they can often be not happy people, for all the obvious reasons, and looking for causes. Bin there dunnit. Not home counties and been skint for much of my life.

It says here "Daedalus & Co was 2nd quality (one of many such "brands") saw made by Joseth Tyzack & Son Ltd Sheffield, sometime between 1876 and 1924, probably early 20th century." https://www.woodworkforums.com/archive/index.php/t-213380.html Charles Mann & Co would be a retail shop in...
