    US Election November 5th

Nonsense. The crises are in the states from which these people wish to escape. It's amazing how people can't see this simple obvious fact. But it is true that USA, the richest nation on earth (for some) has failed to rise to the challenge, instead exploits these people with low wages and...

    Keir Starmer

The point is - nobody could possibly vote for it because nobody knew what it was going to be. They voted in favour of the idea. If Cameron had thought a little more he might have anticipated this and phrased the question differently, with suitable drop out conditions exactly yes ....because...

    Yes, Salaman says picture framers.

And so they should if all Ireland voted for it. As they should have, years ago.

Probably was, but we don't rule by plebiscite, least of all completely in the dark with no finished agreement.

The did not vote for it. They voted in favour of it but clearly dependent on the terms obtained, when the general common-sense but unspoken assumption was that they would only then vote for or against it, or Parliament just reject it as a lost cause. Nobody voted for Johnson going head-down...

That's the big bonus of being in EU. Disputes between neighbours (UK , Ireland, divided NoI) suddenly become less meaningful when they are all under the jurisdiction of bigger entity, but on equal terms and a lot of benefits. Orange marches could just become quaint cultural relics with everybody...

Had a look at the vid. Obvious right wing **** stirring from an id iot. No wonder he wants to keep his private life private! More to the point is this: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/oct/17/keir-starmer-beliefs-attorney-general-rule-of-law It explains a lot. He surprised me by...

OK he purged left wingers - who also are activists, more or less by definition. "Conservatives" are not activists - there's a clue in the name. Not sure why Rayner was reprieved, I guess she has something on him. Only because the tories currently are so far right as to be in cloud cuckoo land...

True, but to bear in mind that alternatives such as the US system cost their tax payers far more per head and provide a far worse service for the many (not the few). The NHS pays to send people off to the private sector for many routine ops, hip/knee transplants, hernias etc which means we the...

So Starmer will be selling out to the powers that be? No surprises there - he made it absolutely clear from the start by purging all those lefties, breaking all his pledges, promising no tax rises. He's working for the other side, just like Bliar...

Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

The correct amount of tension is basically just enough to stop the blade from slipping under load, for the job in hand, plus a little more. Gauge seems to working fine! It's a relative indicator and not an absolute measure. Looks like you could adjust it if you want it to stay within the scale

Your workers? Presumably the directors and shareholders you refer to, do actually employ people to do the work, whatever it is?

Weirdest and most sinister suggestion of the week was Streeting, on injections for the over-weight to get them back into work. Might as well inject hallucinogens at the same time so they enjoy it too! Very futuristic, like cattle farming to provide workers. What next, a breeding programme...

Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

Probably just relative tension - mine has low/medium/high on the scale.

Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

I guess blade tension guide. Have something similar on my Startrite 352. Easy to find out just wind the tension up and down and see if it changes (assuming it is in working order of course!)

A recommendation for conspiracists/people who understand things the rest of us don't

He would need guidance on principles as he clearly has non of his own, which should be surprising in a leader of the Labour Party and ex human-rights lawyer. We are slowly getting used to this and accepting it. Politics and democracy are in a poor way.

A recommendation for conspiracists/people who understand things the rest of us don't

I think they are worse than the last lot in that they are going to pursue the same policies but more efficiently and more dishonestly. At least you knew where you were with the tories; up **** creek without paddle.
